I could not ask for a better date to choose the debut of SASUKE 28. Is it possible that it may use the Challenge UK broadcast (with a voiceover by Jim North) or re-edit with subtitles?

Haven't seen anything on the horizon beyond Tuesday's schedule; hopefully they will see fit to air all the rest of the tournaments that G4 audiences have missed in the last decade (and not just 28).

I'll be very curious to see how this is edited.
Best case scenario: It's not edited at all. It's just the Japanese broadcast with English subtitles.
Worst case scenario: It's your typical G4 edit, with a voice-over and out-of-order runs.

I forgot to mention it but a 24 hour marathon is airing for the 25th anv of Sasuke leading up to the new episodes. Also new promos heavily suggest more new episodes are on the way!

It's official, it aired! Runs are in order, some editing suggestions taken from TBS cut. Was mainly the UK versions broadcast with the normal G4 items. No celebs. Over all not bad, def could use some improvements. Re-runs all week / weekend if you missed it. Also will premiere on Pluto on Oct 8th at 6:55pm. And G4 confirmed more seasons to premiere "soon".

Not that I watched this (I've seen the Challenge version already), but I have noticed in the Challenge broadcasts for the later tournaments (28 and onwards) they've just edited out all the celebrities and not even included them in the clear list or anything. I presume this is for some weird legal reasons, but it's at least a plus compared to the original broadcast in some cases (not saying all celebs are 'bad' per se, more that the original broadcasts shove so many of them down your throat it is a bit of a relief that they're not included here).

Well from the recent post about how many runs in each tournament were shown, 28 only had like 45 runs shown in the original broadcast, so 30 generally speaking isn't bad for G4. We've definitely seen worse from them (like how they messed up Sasuke 12 lol). Well I watched the Challenge versions of 33 and 34 (which I'm fairly sure G4 copies but just has a different narrator and subtitles instead of Jim North's annoying as hell narration) and they only stated 9 Stage 1 clears for 33, with Takeru, ABC-Z, Mori, and one other guy (can't remember who) just not included; same with Sasuke 34. They also didn't show Darvish either; I don't know why they just skip over celebs. They always used to show guys like Kane and Iketani, idk. |

What did they do with Box Girl and the whole dinner party event? Is it even possible to remove Box Girl through editing?
It would be pretty funny if they pixelated her.
I guess you could hide her behind a big G4 logo too.

I guess you could hide her behind a big G4 logo too. I'm sure with the G4 edits, TBS gives them the raw footage for G4 to edit themselves. I'm sure they didn't need to do anything to edit her out (at least on the screen). |

The commentator was dry to me. They needed the last person or someone new with some energy. But I enjoyed it overall!

I agree. I don't know why they didn't use Dave Wittenberg and do it the way they did for the first 27 tournaments.
Sadly, that's the last new tournament we're going to get in the US now that G4 is going away (again).
