OK, there may be changes to the course and there will be new competitors and we really don't know yet which people will attend or not (some until the actual air date). But let's have some fun here and pick our top 5 in terms of who you think will get the farthest in Sasuke 23. Sorry if I missed someone who you thought should be on this list.

I'm going out on a limb and picking Takuya (#14 in Sasuke 23) in my top 5. He made it to the Slider Jump and has impressed me before although never cleared the first stage. Wouldn't it be funny though if 5 new competitors made it the farthest?

I think David Campbell has a good shot this time. Good chance he will attend 23, and he passed the Slider Jump, even if he was slightly lucky. He says he has been training a lot, so I think he has a good chance on getting to at least the second stage.

Typical, but: Nagano, Takeda (based on their all-around awesomeness, regardless of their 22 performances) and the 3 that made it the farthest last time: Urushihara, Kanno, Lee. Okuyama loses to Lee only by virtue of his age.

I picked Nagano, Urushihara, Lee Yen Chi, Okuyama, and Shunsuke Nagasaki. Despite Nagano not being so reliable to clear the first stage anymore, I still feel he can get very far into the course. He just needs to get that Slider Jump down. Urushihara has gone deep into the first stage and gotten to the final stage in his two appearances on the course. I feel he can do very well once again. Both Lee Yen Chi and Okuyama have cleared the first stage twice in their three appearances on the redesigned course. I feel that they can go far once again. Shunsuke Nagasaki has only failed the first stage once in possibly the hardest course ever in Sasuke's history. If he comes back, he would definitely be a threat to make it all the way to the final stage.

I'm also thinking Dave will go deep if he's brought back. I also see Levi turn things around and make it back to the third stage.
I would love to see Yuuji carry the torch but so many things can go wrong on the first stage, especially when he's so small and light. Strength can be a factor.

I WANT Kawahara to beat stage 1 so badly. He's been in more Sasuke's than people seem to think. He's timed out on the final obstacle before, lost on the HPA the same tournament everyone else did, and almost beat stage 1 in 22 but due to his low number was the first to attempt the Slider Jump and ultimately failed it. So I hope he beats stage 1. Though, I ended up choosing Nagano, Takeda, Shunsuke, Yuuji, and Levi. So many variables in choosing, so don't hate.

I voted for myself of course Levi because he seems to have great ability, but his problem is that he doesn't really train for the obstacles specifically. He's planning on coming to my town prior to 23 to train on the Slider Jump I am building (he actually offered to donate $100 towards materials so I could get it done faster!). So I think after training on my Slider Jump, Salmon Ladder and the new Cliffhanger I recently built he should have the technique down to get through the areas that have caused him problems in the past. Lee Yen Chi: I've always had a good feeling about this guy, and he's a fellow rock climber and very consistant. Hopefully he's worked on his cliffhanger technique! Nagano: Well duh! Nagano seems to never fail an obstacle twice, so he should be in the final stage, barring a redesign. Yuugi: He seems really good, and he did get the best time on stage 1, he just made everything look so easy.....well except the wall lift!

David....if you can pick up the pace on the 1st stage and beat that Slider Jump, I think you could do really well as you seem to have the strength and a positive attitude. Good luck man!

Wow. Thanks for voting everyone. I know some of these polls may be boring and redundant, but they clearly show how we feel. According to this poll, here are the top 5...
1. Yuuji and Nagano tied 3. Takeda 4. Lee En Chi 5. Shunsuke Nagasaki
...with Levi, David C and Okuyama not far behind. A couple of notes here...most of us believe Nagano can still do well and Yuuji's final stage appearance wasn't a fluke. Also, only 2 of the top 5 here were the top 5 finishers in Sasuke 22.

Well let's see, I think....... Nagano, Takeda, Nagasaki, Urushihara, and Kanno. And another top 5 just for the sake of unpredictibility.... Yamamoto, Kobayashi, Shiratori, Kawahara, and Yamada.

I hope Levi does well this time. He really needs to have a good run cause he has declined over the last 2 competitions.

Knowing that Terek, Shunsuke and Miyazaki aren't competing (and perhaps a few others as well), would anyone like to change their top 5 for SASUKE 23?
I would go with Nagano, Takeda, Lee En Chi, Yuuji, and Okuyama. Levi and Kawahara both have a chance to go far too IMO and there's always new competitors who may surprise us like they did last time.
Of course, it could be a totally new top 5 from SASUKE 22!
