Sweet! Definately if anyone gets anything it's nice to pool the information into one place so everyone benefits. I'd make it known in your entries (especially if you are affected) about the fact that you would not qualify to compete under G4's restrictive rules and therefore cannot apply to Sasuke through G4. Maybe.. just maybe they will get the hint and allow to add to the list despite their new deal with G4. That and the fact that there was only 1 the last time and there were no trials. In fact G4 hasn't had trials in almost 2 years now.

Don't see a petition doing much good. G4 has already proven on many occasions it's not going to listen to us on anything. That's pretty much why we came to these boards. And maybe also to the reason NW's ratings are tanking. Piss off the fans, you get no fans. And they've done alot to piss off the fans.

And maybe also to the reason NW's ratings are tanking. Piss off the fans, you get no fans. And they've done alot to piss off the fans. I agree, but i'm going to expand on it. G4's biggest problem with their presentation of Sasuke is that they are trying to make the show about them. You can see that especially Olivia, she wants to be the star of the show and be the center of attention at all times. That may work great for AOTS (i wouldn't know, i've never watched it), but it most certainly does not work for Sasuke. It's pretty obvious when Olivia passing the steps got significantly more airtime then Yuuji passing the 3rd stage. Sasuke does not need a host, the fans dont want it, and its been proven it doesn't work, but are they going to change? Of course not. Sasuke is about 100 people, all treated equally, doing their best to try to conquer a seemingly impossible task. THAT is what the show is about, not about who can get the most air time, but unfortunately, G4 seems to treat it that way in several regards. However in her defense, I dont blame Olivia, and I don't hate her like many people on here. I feel she's been unfairly blamed for a lot of things. She is not the right type of person for the show, but G4 has her do it anyway. She is just being herself and doing what she's told to do. It's not her fault that she's incompatable with the show, and I'm sure she works very hard and does the best she can. I think Ninja Warrior is salvagable, but it will need some changes, and a lot of the input will need to come from the fans. G4 needs to wake up and start listening to what people want instead of telling them what they want, in any business thats a recipe for disaster.

Exactly. As soon as they started the ANC, the show became about them.
What's worse is now they're starting to do stupid things like Levi visiting the all-stars. If that's not bad enough by itself, it means G4 has invested a lot into Levi, which means he's not going anywhere for a while. That's bad because now fewer people can get their chance on the course.

I also have issues with G4's coverage but I keep reminding myself if it wasn't for G4 I wouldn't know about Sasuke.

If that's not bad enough by itself, it means G4 has invested a lot into Levi, which means he's not going anywhere for a while. That's bad because now fewer people can get their chance on the course. I see this as a more dangerous thing. Partly I like the coverage BECAUSE it's the All-stars but at the same time it's trying to create a persona much bigger than Sasuke. In Japan he's not as big and quite frankly just another American in the mix. The more he shows how he is the less he's liked. They don't like cocky guys - it's been proven time and time again. I feel bad for the other ANC people because they seem to be afterthoughts. For David he didn't get the access the other guys (especially Levi) did. There was no organized Muscle Park with coverage. There was no dinner with other Sasuke competitors (like they did with the All-Stars and Mr. Octopus). There was very very little communication with anyone in Sasuke really.. except the obscene amount of money they plunked on Levi. While G4 is pouring all their money on Levi you have other people that are more universally liked. Brian was VERY well received. So was Brett and so was Lucy. I'm not even sure they had a change to like David since they knew almost nothing about him (they do now for that spectacular save in the Slider Jump). And that's really a shame. And while I agree that G4 was the reason a lot of people knew about Sasuke (not all since I was a Viking fan well before Sasuke aired in the USA and that was shown by ESPN) it doesn't give them the right to be the only outside network futzing with the show's format and feel that MADE It popular in the USA and other countries. I've noticed in my almost 2 years of following the show that other countries are not as keen on G4's coverage and tampering when they finally get to see the original TBS broadcast. Quite frankly G4 is digging itself a hole they can't get out of. Heck Lee Yen Chi who has a MUCH better track record in Sasuke is Taiwan's only hope these days and I don't see any lavishing from JET TV. They don't do that and I appreciate it. He's one of the 100 not ZOMG he's almost 100. Quite frankly I was thrilled they knocked Levi down to 91. If he goes back he'll be even lower.

Slightly off topic, But with regards to Arsenette's comment as knocking down Levi's number, In Sasuke 32 he managed to work his way all the way down to #68. I got praised by several people for doing that, so I suspect if they did that over there they'd get the same reaction. He was actually only the 4th highest # amongst the ANC guys, not even counting the other Americans. This was entirely based on performance, not weather or not I like him.

Some differences with the TBS qualifier are that there are 60 slots and the country is smaller than California alone, not even taking into consideration the other 49 states. In Japan you can take a train from almost anywhere in the country and be in Tokyo in a few hours. In America it's a much bigger undertaking to fly from NY to CA for a shot at 1 or 2 slots.
The Ninja Killer as a trials would be great, but they would have to have at least a few stops around the country. Which I kinda got the impression they might be considering?

Remember, there are 3 other main sections of Japan which is separated by Islands. That's excluding every small islands that exist in Japan.

Actually the Japan Trials is no more than 6-8 slots total from that. They get an average of 2 thousand plus entries and then do a qualifier with 60-80 people (depending).
G4 has various ways of doing it. Personally I'd like to see them do a course with more than just 6 finalists (ANC2 I'm referring to).. at this point.. ANYTHING than what they have been doing lately.

I think he meant 60 competing in the trials.

Ah okay. Summer trials they picked 80 and spring they did 60 and it seems to fluctuate depending on how involved the trials are. Last year they had a pretty big course.. this year it was a last minute thing they slapped together.

For all the flak we give Munn, she can definitely out-act Megan Fox, so there's at least one positive attribute.

Always has been like that every time they pull out the "Trials footage". Winter they usually lax and do some muscle park trials thing.. summer one it's a long course.

Yeah, but we also got the impression it would be aired and we would get extra shots at the course afterwards.
I wouldn't get your hopes up. G4 is like that. :/

Just a note:
There was a BUG IN MIKI this year but from the photos I've seen there was no course like there was last year (remember, that's how Yuuji Urushihara got into 21 - but it wasn't an official qualifying event, he was invited after the event). Yamada was there but no one else.
We also don't know if there was any sort of invitation extended to anyone from this year's Maguro Festival.
