This is probably old news for those who have already stumbled upon this, so this basically is just for those who didn't . Apparently Darvish (if I'm not mistaken) uploaded a music video on his YT channel, and it was based off of his result in 39. It was actually uploaded on the day the tournament was released, so it was probably uploaded after the airing of the tournament. It didn't seem like it was for his band, Golden Bomber, considering I didn't see Kyan Yutaka or the other members in the video, but it's still a good song nonetheless. As weird and unorthodox as this video appears, it just shows how passionate Darvish is towards SASUKE, and I really hope he comes back from his unfortunate string of recent bad luck in the future.

As far as celebs go, I think he's the best the show's seen in every way.

You should really be rewarded with something really special, like idk a percentage on your warning bar or an outright ban for similar comments like this? Back to Darvish but on a different topic, should he attempt the first stage under normal conditions in SK40, which means no dysfunctional dragon glider nor heavy rain, how far does he go? Clearly this video is for motivational purposes for him to do better but despite the watered down Rolling Log x Salmon Ladder mashup, that combo is still a killer to the unexperienced - Goto being a recent example - and while I believe he's trained for this combo, (though I'm also saying this knowing I've never seen him do it so don't quote me on that) I don't know if he can handle it. I'm also saying this w/ the assumption that he clears the first stage, idk if my confidence in him clearing the first stage next tournament is high (SK37 saw him fail a normal dragon glider) but in any event I'm hoping he at least get's his revenge on the dragon glider.

As far as celebs go, I think he's the best the show's seen in every way. I agree. He really has become iconic in the sense that he always wears the same face paint, but also that he was the most successful celeb for three tournaments in a row (from 34-36). That was probably his prime era of the show, and although no one thought he had a chance at a kanzen, he still was highly favored to go pretty far. I think he should get credit for taking time off his music career to relentless train to do as well as make stage three, since his huge passion for SASUKE is what made it happen. I think he's definitely one of my top favorite celeb competitors at this point.

I feel that the only reason that he failed the Dragon Glider in 37--as opposed to clearing it twice before--was because of the heavy fog that night. I feel that he couldn't really see what was ahead before the obstacle, and he misjudged the timing on the transition between the first and second bar because of it. And yea, you could say that no one else had a problem with it, such as Yusuke, Tomohiro, Yuuji, Graff, etc. But take in mind that they've been training for SASUKE a lot longer than Darvish has, and they probably had more and more time to train on this particular obstacle than him (since he has an actual career to focus on the side)--so they probably already had more of a feel of the obstacle despite the fog. But yea, I can agree that unless it doesn't rain in the future (or that they actually find a solution to circumvent this problem), with the addition of him training for the new Crazy Glider, I don't think he has it in him to go back to stage two. Plus, he's already in his 40s now, and you know how age hits in the average SASUKE competitor. But if he does make it back to stage two, as long as they keep it unaltered as always, he could make it back to stage three. But again, his training, his age, and the weather are all other factors to watch out for.

Yeah Darvish has had some HELLA bad luck recently. I did hear from someone that he couldn't see the second bar in 37 due to the heavy fog hence why he failed the Dragon Glider, in 38 the obstacle malfunctioned, and in 39 he obviously got screwed by the rain. I've never been a fan of celebrities getting special treatment when it comes to bending the rules (for example, Shoei apparently got multiple attempts at Stage 3 in Sasuke 8), but I find it weird how production did nothing about wronging their supposedly hottest celebrity competitor several times. Obviously if they'd given him a re-run they would've had to give everyone else affected by the same conditions the same which would've over-complicated things, and apparently they weren't aware of 38's malfunction until editing, but yeah....
I follow him on Instagram and he has somewhat been training for the log/Salmon Ladder combo, at least in spirit, where he makes himself dizzy before attempting the latter. I feel like if guys like Yusuke Suzuki or Tomohiro Mutou (the former of which isn't the most consistent competitor and the latter of which never attempted Stage 2 before) could beat the current version then I'm fairly confident Darvish could as well; besides, Snow Man almost beat it and I'd still say Darvish is a stronger competitor in spite of his recent performances. I feel like he potentially has one Stage 3 run left in him assuming the course is exactly the same which knowing Inui it probably will be; I don't know how long he has left as he's in his 40s now but it's hard to gauge whether he's 'declining' per se given that all of his recent fails have been due to external circumstances.
Either way, if I was him, I'd probably opt for a lower number next time out given that the weather appears to be worse on average later in the day, and if it rains for the entire day then it's kind of fair game if everyone's getting screwed over by it (hence why no one complains about Sasuke 8). Surely given how production brown-nose him constantly he could ask for a lower number and they'd give it to him. Besides, no one would want to wait the best part of 3-4 hours to have to watch Darvish right at the end of Stage 1, so it's not like it would significantly impact the ratings if he ran earlier.

Darvish definitely has the skill set and the training to at least get back to where he was--as long as everything else is in good condition. I know he's also been training on the Flying Bar to Sidewinder transition, but with the moving Sidewinder modification, that might be a sign that he'll end up like Suzuki--failing it twice in a row. Not saying that he can't beat the mod version, but even Keitaro (an experienced rock climber and UNCLI No. 5 for that matter) ended up failing it. Still, it would be cool if he had a chance to make the Cliffhanger Dimension, as he's also trained for it as well... well, maybe not the exact replica where the ledges move, but he's been practicing on stationary transitions (you'd probably have to be Matsuda to build that lol). And even if he doesn't get back to stage three, a stage two return could still be considered a comeback, kind of like when it took him until 34 to get him back to stage two from his first time in 31. Also, where did you find that Shoei had gotten re-runs in stage three? And do you know if there's actual footage, or is it just considered lost media?

Wrong Darvish is the worst ever coz he has stupid facepaint and need to be made fun of why people love him so much he is a clown who deserve to retire from SASUKE I hate this a*****e so much Let me guess, you hate him because he supposedly gets numbers he doesn’t deserve and he gets too much screen time and etc etc this whole fiasco is a good 3-4 years out of date by now. The way someone is edited into the show isn’t their fault so you can’t hate on them for that, and as far as celebrities go Darvish is the most committed and passionate about Sasuke, and largely just wants to be treated as a real competitor rather than a money maker for TBS. The latter title goes to the bunch of joke celebrities which Darvish definitely isn’t classified as. This is coming from someone who personally finds Darvish’s sideline antics a bit grating and would obviously rather every fail didn’t cut to his reaction; I don’t like it but I get it, and would rather this was the case than the show get cancelled due to poor viewings. And again, the whole idea of ‘Darvish is overrated’ is old at this point, everyone knows why he’s promoted so much. And lots of screen time doesn’t equate to being overrated; overrated would mean that people expect him to reach the Final Stage, but they don’t. They just spotlight him because he’s a celebrity, not because they think he’s as strong as Yusuke or Tada lol. If you want Darvish to quit then maybe write him a personal message on Instagram explaining your opinion, otherwise he’s got just as much right to train and compete as anyone else, even Yusuke.
