Well I have a picture of him touching the water with his foot on the Silk Slider landing but I can't show it

You mean #90 Keitarou Yamamoto (山本桂太朗)? They sliced his run so the Silk Slider part was not shown in the broadcast. A conspiracy?
Or #50 Yoshiyuki Yamamoto (山本良幸)? But I just rechecked his run and the Silk Slider landing looked clean.

He meant Shingo, and yes that landing was very close to a DQ, but they didn't review it for some reason

It was hard to tell on my end. My video kind of blurred out, but looking back it looks like he came VERY close. Considering he failed the Fish Bone anyway, they probably didn't even bother to review it.

There definitely looked like a splash in the water when he landed. Idk for me it defo looked like his foot touched the water. I figured they probably would’ve reviewed it had he cleared but given that he failed the next obstacle they just decided to show the full run.
Edit: I just rewatched his run and he 100% touched the water; no doubt about it.

Honestly, I was told the mat itself caused the splash, not Shingo's foot (though considering the meme of "The foot" from SASUKE 16, I could see this going back to that.). What's with Shingo making it nailbiting just to do... whatever he did on the fishbone...?

The splash was at the exact same point as his foot so coincidence I think not. I don’t know how more people didn’t see this.
It was in fact so clear to me that I’m surprised they let him continue. At least he didn’t clear and then get disqualified like Takeda did; that would’ve been the ultimate ‘f*** you’ to the All-Stars lol.

As much as I love and respect Shingo, I'm glad he didn't clear and cause any incident, looked for certain to me that his foot hit the water

Honestly, I think they turned a blind eye to the violation. Whenever you've got an older guy going through the course like that, we all know that the odds of him making it through legitimately are very low. So you've got to have a bit of understanding for them and just say, "Yeah, keep going until you fall off." In particular, I think the all-stars are worthy for this bit of rule bending.
But if, by some miracle, Shingo did make it all the way through, I would support going back and disqualifying him. I just think that, in this case, in the heat of the moment, we all wanted to keep Shingo's hopes alive for just a bit longer.

I just think the announcer didn’t see it for some weird reason, otherwise they would’ve 100% called him out there and then.
Also about the ‘letting the older guy continue’ point, you could’ve said the same about Takeda in 38 who a lot of people fully expected to fail Stage 1, but they let him continue and he ended up clearing making the whole fiasco way more controversial. I actually don’t know why they didn’t stop him either given that that Fish Bone rule had been enforced earlier in the tournament.
Unlike Takeda though this situation was entirely fair and based on the longest standing Sasuke rule as opposed to some bulls**t made-up-on-the-fly one, so my only conclusion is that they didn’t see it.
All-Star or not, the same rules should apply to every competitor otherwise it just becomes plain unfair. Also they never bent the rules for guys like Darvish (who if anything deserved a re-run in his last two attempts but didn’t get one) so I don’t think they let him continue on the basis that he was an All-Star.

That's a fair assessment.

I feel like the same could be said for Yamada in 5 since I'm CONVINCED he hit the water... if only barely. Shingo I'm now thinking... yeah I think he did touch which would have made me MORE angry at him but even if no one saw it, EVERYONE saw him fail the fishbone so...

I don't think it's obvious enough his foot hit the water as oppose to the splash being caused by the mat. It probably did touch slightly, but I don't think they can DQ him unless the camera clearly demonstrates it.
