Rain completely took all the excitement away of stage 3. Any suspense died when Yusuke timed out to be honest. It was either see if he could pull a back 2 back win or everyone fails easily stage 3 lol new obstacle was gonna be a killer it's like a extra finger grip before the CH VLK and none of the pack were gonna be capable maybe Tada at a push. But all the best challengers were done in by the boring double wall.
I'm kind of annoyed as this result will validate even more them barely renewing things. Hopefully Yusuke gets kind nature in 40 and ices this course or Tada.
First half was fun second half was flat as heck to me.
Tease a new final with no one attempting it as well was a bit lame.
6 out 10.

If this was not a renewal tournament, I would very easily give this tournament a 9 - 9,5/10. However, as it is a renewal tournament, and the only reason why most of the competitors in the 90s failed in the 1st Stage is because of the fact that the production team is incompetent and negligent, I can only give it a 7 out of 10.

Renewal lol I liked the Swing edge but lets not kid ourselves this is not a proper renewal lol infact the renewal didn't need a budget Nature did it for them...

It's because it's supposed to be a renewal tournament, and the lack of new obstacles for me is a major negative.

Pros: - A fair few rookies and new faces reaching Stages 2 and 3 - Editing and results of joke competitors were much better than in 38, they cut a lot of the long Rolling Hill traversal. - Stage 2 was quite exciting, especially Keitaro finally breaking through. - Stage 3’s first half got the revamp it desperately needed and a lot of competitors failed before the Cliffhanger making it one of the most unpredictable Stage 3s we’ve seen in a really long time.
Cons: - The rain. The. f***ing. Rain. - Stage 1 was just too easy, we would’ve had probably 20+ clears if it wasn’t for the rain which is more than last time, despite this being a ‘renewal’. - Did I mention the rain? - Some odd digests like Tada twice despite him going the farthest.
I’m going with a 7/10 just because the results actually turned out quite good (in that they were a lot worse than 38) despite the underwhelming course changes. Stage 3 was much more of a bloodbath in its first half which I liked. I just can’t get over how the last 5 competitors were completely robbed of a chance and were forced to run in the rain. This did mean that Yusuke didn’t dominate again and hence we got some more screen time with other competitors, but the fact that he didn’t fail legitimately massively dampens whatever advantage that has.

Teasing the final with the klaxon blaring was false advertisement.
First half of Stage 1 was well rounded but felt a bit drawn out.
Rain shot the legitimacy of the tournament, but it is what it is. They should have better preemptive measures for this type of thing like sossasuke said in another thread. I doubt it'd take much to have a temporary tarp over the walls at the very least.
Kanno and Shunsuke... why? Shunsuke doesn't even practice the Dragon Glider but Kanno did. Really a shame
Yoshiyuki I really thought was going to the final. Was shocked he fell on the Swing Edge. They weren't showing off Tada or Morimoto Yamamoto in the first stage so I was convinced it was gonna be him in the final, especially with all the attention he was getting.
Shocked at Ryo and Yamamoto's fails. Happy Ryo made it back to Stage 3 though. He really earned it this time. Surprised the cohort of Ryo through Tada even cleared to begin with tbh. The rain really mainly killed the last 5 runners. I expected fewer clears, but even the first half of Stage 1 was stacked this year.
Hioki is so consistent, but what was that timing on the Cliffhanger? Look I'm not gonna act like I know better than the guy because he's a pro, but I'm pretty sure he went way too early.
Suzuki Yusuke did great.
Tbh when I saw Yusuke posting training videos on YouTube during the tournament I had a feeling he was already doing damage control before his run lol... I think he did something similarly in 37 but could very well be wrong.
Oh and lastly, Kan Yutaka (spelling I'm unsure of) did excellent for himself. He's always been my favorite celeb I think deep down. Guy's always subtly very funny. I can't believe he made it that far though.
Pretty meh tournament. If there was no rain I'd say it was a solid 8. With the crapshoot First Stage I say it was maybe a 7.
