Keitaro has finally done it! The guy who has been labeled as the ultimate Third Stage competitor by some people has finally done it! He has conquered his demons!

I called it. They gave him a fluff piece on the YouTube channel about him failing Stage 2 five times and training to beat it, so I knew it was his time.
Either way, hella impressive that he managed to beat the hardest Stage 2 he's faced (except for 29, but that doesn't count because it was just plain unfair).
Easily the most nail-biting Stage 2 run we've seen in a long time. That Backstream hesitation gave me anxiety on a new level.
He's now on his playground. Let's wait and see.

^Well this aged poorly..... Any suspense died when Yusuke timed out to be honest. It was either see if he could pull a back 2 back win or everyone fails easily stage 3 lol new obstacle was gonna be a killer it's like a extra finger grip before the CH VLK.

Not really.
Keitaro has always been a favourite to beat Stage 3 as he's displayed incredible ability in practice, and besides he was a complete unknown so it's hard to predict how you do in competition. Even though his fail was more technique-based rather than lack of upper body strength, still really disappointing given how much people were hyping him up.
I reckon someone would've maybe cleared if it wasn't for the Swing Edge, but that's no bad thing. It is a renewal after all, a Stage 3 ending is what we're used to.

Its a cheap "renewal" they were fortunate the rain helped them (They as in Inui producers etc from paying out)

I'm SUPER happy for Keitaro. It's clear he can threaten stage 3. It's only a matter of time before he returns.

Its a cheap "renewal" they were fortunate the rain helped them (They as in Inui producers etc from paying out) I think that’s a bit unfair. You try taking on a stage that has plagued you physically and mentally for 8 years and has felled you 5/5 times. You could see the mental burden he was taking on from that especially with the Backstream, which is way harder to overcome than you think. The stage he finally cleared was also harder than a lot of the ones he’s failed so all I can say is fair play to him. Also I wouldn’t say the rain helped them. It was plain unfair to the last 20 or so runs and if anything just puts an asterisk against a lot of their performances. ‘Yusuke and Yuuji failed Stage 1 in 39 but it was raining’....

He's saying that the rain increased the difficulty spike a renewal is supposed to have and that the Inui and the producers were lucky it rained otherwise more elite competitors would have cleared and potentially humiliate the supposed harder course.

Personally, I was happy to see Keitaro finally make Stage 3. It was essentially now or never at this point and it was tbh more rewarding than 37 would have been (since there was no Rolling Log and a ridiculous time limit). Hopefully finally breaking through will give him the mental push to make it there more. It's not like he's that old as he's only 30 so please keep up the pace Keitaro.
