From my status, you guys obviously know that I would not have been very happy if Yusuke Morimoto had cleared the Final Stage for the 2nd tournament in a row. But, above everything, I am a fan of fairness. What happened to the last 5 guys who ran the First Stage was completely unfair. The producers and the staff should have delayed the final runs of the stage until the conditions improved, just like in 32. Or well, they could have tarped the course, put some giant sheets over it. Letting the competitors run in a rather slippery condition is simply not fair. It's not fair to Morimoto, it's not fair to Yuuji, it is definitely not fair to Tomo who I believe is retiring after this tournament because he failed the wall, it's not fair to Darvish, and hate him or like him, it isn't fair to Yamada, too. What a farce.

The issue is that because it's raining even if you wipe down the course it'll still be wet by the time the competitor reaches there.
One thing I don't get is why they didn't delay those runs until the next day, as I understand Stages 2 and 3 are run the following day anyway? They did that in Sasuke 32 after a bit of dampness and in 37 they delayed the entire 100 runs one day due to the bad weather.
It just sucks that the last few competitors you have to put an asterisk against their runs: 'oh they failed Stage 1 but it was raining'.....

The rain really did have to show up just before the 90's rolled up... A sad fate but you have to grin and bar it at times. Look at SASUKE 8 and 12 for examples.

this tournament is BS with that rain handicap for just the last runners of Stage 1. I don't care if Inui couldn't wait for better conditions, the fact is, those competitors were robbed of a legitimate run.

The rain is what prevented this tournament from being terrible

The rain is what prevented this tournament from being terrible Why? Don’t you think the fact that some competitors got completely robbed of a Stage 1 clear due to circumstances out of their control while others weren’t at all affected is a bad thing? It’s just plain unfair and puts an asterisk against the entirety of the tournament. Also even worse, it meant that fewer people cleared Stages 1 and 2 and hence it gives Inui even less of a reason to make necessary changes for Sasuke 40. At least if we’d had 20+ clears it would’ve hopefully woken him up as to how lazy Stage 1 was. Instead, he’s probably thinking that the Ni Ren SK was successful, not realising that without the weather it basically would’ve had f*** all impact. If it had been raining all tournament then I think it would’ve been more fun, like Sasuke 8 was. The rain was a handicap but affected everyone equally, so it was effectively a survival of the fittest and most adaptable, and caused a lot of shock fails throughout the entirety of the field. I still don’t know why they didn’t delay taping until the next day from like #82 onwards, unless it was predicted to rain the next day as well.
