There's obvs been a lot of discussion around how minimal the changes for Sasuke 39 have been given that it's meant to be a renewal tournament. We obviously need to wait and see the full course but we know that Stage 1 is basically the same while Stage 2 looks fairly identical, Stage 3 only has one new obstacle replacing the Planet Bridge, and Stage 4 obvs has the rock climbing wall. Obvs the main (supposed) excuse for these lack of changes is the lack of budget (which I don't entirely see as an excuse given that Sasuke 5's Stage 1 showed you can still buff the course massively with minimal changes), so if it were up to you, how would you change 39's course to be as hard as possible even if you were given a really low budget, this meaning the following:
- You can't add any obstacle that'll extend the overall length of a stage as Sasuke 35 proved that's out of the question
- You can't add anything that's overly complex or motorised
- Prioritise obstacle modifications and minimal overall replacements.
(Note: I am completely open to accepting that this post may age badly if 39 ends up being a complete annihilation but given that it's basically confirmed that someone will reach the Final Stage that's probs not the case).
Here are my ideas.....
Stage 1:
- Make the Quad Steps smaller and more angled (similar to older variants) such that competitors can't just take the slow and steady approach
- Massively shorten the landing platform for the Silk Slider
- Force competitors to push all three weights of the Tackle at once.
- Shorten the run up for the Warped Wall.
[Time Limit - 70 seconds (20 seconds down from Sasuke 38 forcing competitors to speed through the course)]
Stage 2:
- Double the distance for the Salmon Ladder jumps by removing the 2nd and 4th sets of rungs.
- Speed up the Reverse Conveyer.
- Get rid of the function in the Wall Lifting that causes them to move down slowly (this might violate H&S so not sure about this one but would defo make things harder).
[Time Limit - 100 seconds (5 seconds lower than before given that 38's Stage 2 was fairly time limited).
Stage 3:
- Replace the Flying Bar with the Ascending Drum Hopper as the first obstacle (keep the same distance but increase height difference to 15cm from 10cm) - also the transition to the Sidewinder will be much harder compared to from the Flying Bar.
- Replace the Pipe Slider with the full-fledged Flying Bar.
Leave Stage 4 as it is in 39.
Let me know if you think you can make this course harder for cheaper than I've done!
