Pick an extremely easy obstacle (particulary one of the first obstacles from the first stage; though its your choice where) and make it harder to complete.
Mine is Ensuitobi (Cone Jump). This was one of the easiest obstacles ever. Judging by a picture on the wiki, the grip was too much to hold on to. Simply make the surface slicker, having to go slower, more intricate movements, which wastes time. Also, having a bigger gap than the one used. You only had to step off instead of jump like the name implied, make the gap big enough to constiute an actual jump. It would be a bit harder as well, making the speed of the cones faster to time the jump quicker, possibly making a mistake because of the slickness of the surface.
*Slick the surface more *Make the gap bigger *Speed up the cones
Won't make it impossible, but there would've been a few surprise fails and who doesn't love someone failing an obstacle because it was overlooked (looks at he-who-must-not-be-named)

Ok, The Circle Hammer. If you fail on it, it's probably going to be because of your landing. Thus.. Why not make the landing small or unbalanced, wobbly, etc.
And I've noticed that the rope stops at a certain point if you miss the jump the first time around. What if we just take that stopper out so that way you actually continue all the way around at full speed when you go. That would make it a little more difficult
*Smaller landing area *No Stopper when going around
Well, my shot at it anyway.

That would work, time and grip wise, if you miss the first time, not only do you waste more time moving back to the pad, but your grip starts to suffer when you need it later on.

Tarzan Rope/Cargo Net
I would move the Cargo Net further away from the Tarzan Rope so you literally have to fly off the Tarzan Rope to catch onto the Cargo Net. Now the last obstacle is no longer just a time waster.

Well, I know you want an easy obstacle made harder, but I'll be really evil and say how you can make the Jumping Spider harder - remember those moving panels you had on the Spider Walk back in the earlier tournaments? I think you need to add a couple of moving panels (one on each side, obviously) to the Jumping Spider, which means you've REALLY gotta move quickly now, or else the panels will suck you down into the water below.

Safety Issue: You need power (electricity) for the moving panals. How could you place the wires so no water can touch the wires, and unintentionally causing the jumping electric death. That's why they used pads early on.

I thought they used them in 4 through 6 as well, when the Spider Walk DID have water? I dunno then, it was just an idea.

The Reverse Fly
I'd add a second and third trampoline to bounce off of. They trampolines would alternate sides. Also, when you bounce off the third trampoline, instead of landing on a platform, you would have to catch a rope. This is similiar to the Flying Chute. You would then have to use your legs to swing to catch a second rope that use swing off of to a platform.
I'm so evil.

I don't remember then Slice. Not a bad idea, it would make it harder.
And Chan, while awesome, would make the first stage so long it wouldn't make sense. Plus, that's a lawsuit waiting to happen, not to mention you would severly hamper the chances of Takeda and you wouldn't want that would you?

Sasuke 5 was water the whole way across and all the panels moved (and had lights). All the did for the moving panes (since 1) was have the panels suspended aqd have the pat that moves it up at the top

Balance bridge with the thing in the middle bigger, so you HAVE to walk on one side or try to jump it and risk a nut hit Free Climbing from Sasuke 1 and 2 but with double speed of the moving section so you have to run like a hamster in the weel...MUAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHHAA!
