The season is about to change, so there may be some fun specials or whatnot. I'll try to keep you posted here (all times are JST).
On the 10th, we have the "infamous" (at least in these circles) Quiz Hexagon at 7PM. Set your tv boxes to Fuji TV to see what all the fuss is about.

I caught an episode of Quiz Hexagon II during Hyper Variety Week. (Not that it's on TBS, but it was around that time I saw it.) A special of some sorts. It would be funny if I knew what was going on. Sucks being a Japanese TV fan and not knowing Japanese . I would catch it if JNet didn't die -_-.

It would be funny if I knew what was going on. Sucks being a Japanese TV fan and not knowing Japanese . As much as I am a fan of more cerebral humor, truly funny stuff doesn't need translation. Not knowing what's going on anytime past a week in advance, the one show I'm definitely keeping my eyes peeled for Time Shock, not only a good example on how to revive dead game shows, but a good example of a civ-turned-celeb game show, even though it's about twice as long as it should be. It says even more that the current version is better than the one that had Chairman Kaga in it.

Things to look for this week (all times JST):
6/16 (Tues): Fuji TV has a Kasupe special where it's a parent-child manzai showdown. They play the Feud at 7PM
6/18 (Thurs): Not sure what TV Asahi has at 7:57 PM for certain, but it looks like a special edition of Master of Champions (that short-lived ABC thing they borrowed from Japan).
Plus all the regular quizzes and such.

Nothing all that exciting this week. Apparently there's something involving small animals maybe, but that's not really relevant I don't think. Instead, I recommend you watch "Shinkonsan, Irrashai~!" (Welcome, Newlyweds) at 12:55PM Saturday on TV Asahi if only to see a grown man fall out of his chair.
Maybe I should look for shows outside the "Variety" genre heading.

SMAP x SMAP is still on the air?! (Monday, 10PM) Summer filler season is about to bid adieu, but that doesn't mean there isn't interesting stuff. Entertainment Tuesday is doing a special (7PM Tuesday, TV Tokyo). TV Asahi seems to have a special Quiz thing on Wednesday (7PM, doubt it's time shock ) I may just do a list of quizzes and such that seem to be here over the summer, but that's all for now. See you in three months, for hopefully you-know-what

Why wouldn't SMAP X SMAP be on the air?

Because I thought SMAP had sorta became irrelevant by now.
