Something should be happening sometime this week. Probably another continuance at this point.

Definitely just waiting for any actual news to hit about this. It still shocks me how little progress they can make... no fault of their own of course.

It has now been 5 days since the extension deadline and nothing has happened, which is odd considering past extensions appeared early on the renewal date.
It seems possible we are now getting into the trial scheduling?

It seems possible we are now getting into the trial scheduling? Well from the onset that was the master plan (to get a trial date). I did notice that the last time Drew waived his right to a speedy trial. My guess is that the notice to extend only applied to speedy trial and since he waived his right to it they aren't bound by the 90 day timeline? My guess of course. That said it has been a year and one would think that they are trying to schedule it. That said nothing says they can't schedule it months from now... Which is entirely possible with all of the massive delays on the court system. I'm curious if the trial will be available to watch once it is announced. Not all trials are covered online.

The speedy trial angle is one I did not consider, so I appreciate you mentioning it. I guess we just have to keep waiting and see.

With minors and pornography being involved, I find it hard to believe it would be watchable to the general public.

Normally I'd yell and ask to stop with memes... but that last one was so on point. I did warn you guys this takes a long time.. now add COVID delays and voila. And to think that this is a Federal case.. they are 3 times faster than normal local cases.
Free side of the site hasn't updated - when in February?

They also hilariously put Feb 11, 2021 as today's date on the document and then corrected it in MS Paint. No other new or useful information otherwise.

Bruh sound. 1.5 years would have gone by without any news from any 'official' outlet except delay after delay after delay... damn.

Is Drew still claiming innocence? It's been so long that I'm wondering if things changed? Obviously evidence seems to solidly point to eventual guilty.

Just a heads up that February 11 is this upcoming Friday. So far we've seen updates on the day or if on a Friday (like this one) sometimes it takes up to the Monday to update on the site.

Personally I think this is a month off simply because 90 days from December.. is March. But who knows at this point. Hopefully sometime this week we'll hear something. And if it's yet another extension then it will be nothing until frickin' May.

Got a new filing today www.courtlistener.com/docket/17413319/united-states-v-andrew-drechsel/#entry-34Another 90 day continuance I'm assuming. They are using Ends of Justice again. I'll quote my older post explaining what that is. New continuance announced today. (for those unaware of the language it means they have a 90 day delay added - this pushes the trial 3 months. That's all continuance means) He has waived his right to a speedy trial (which is a law) and therefore by accepting this delay (continuance) no trial date is set yet. So if today is the 15th that they mentioned then that takes it to May 15? (90 day) before any trial can start. If someone can confirm that date that would be awesomely appreciated. This time next week we enter the next window. So the 13th is next Friday. As per usual we could get something before that time but if it is a Friday we usually don't see anything on the Courtlistener site until Monday (which would be the 16th).

It's crazy to think by the time this trial actually does happen, it will have been close to, if not 2+ years since the news broke out as to what happened. I can't believe how fast time has been going by as a whole.

I can't believe how fast time has been going by as a whole. I remember when I first mentioned that this could take years I was laughed at. Mostly in disbelief because at the time many thought the charges were not real and he would be out on bail this whole time. Then when he was denied bail they still didn't understand how backlogged the system was. This is Federal court. The normal is over a year. Regular court is backed up 3 years plus... and this was BEFORE Covid. Who knows when this is going to happen at this point with all of the delays. Philadelphia in particular is notoriously backlogged and there are still a lot Covid restrictions that are not in place in 40+ more states. So I'm not sure when anything will move at this point. We are past the 1+ years I expected this would get to trial.

EDIT: Screwed up the format since I wanted to cut and paste and quote... Hopefully I fixed the formating on the my February message and put the correct thing out on this one today. Sorry about that. No new filing today. Just giving a heads up to look out next week for a new filing of some sort since the deadline approaches.
