1. Yusuke Morimoto - Nothing could ever beat the legend as he transformed into the new Nagano, becoming only the 4th person to Kanzen and earned the rights of being given the highest starting position for the last five times in a row. Even though he sadly failed the First Stage last time round though, I can definitely see him making a great comeback in 38 with hopefully a second win.
2. Tatsuya Tada - His amazing performance in the last two tournaments have made this person a top-level competitor now, but I mainly like him because of his prefectural specialism with cherries, which he wears on the back of his shirt as well as holding up a soft toy at the beginning of the course. Also, it's great that Tada's the one who is best friends with the legend and I would've still ranked him the 2nd best if he wasn't.
3. Jun Sato - This guy is so consistent at reaching Stage 3 about several times despite not making it past the Cliffhanger yet, but at least he has cleared Stage 1 for over a decade now and still performs better than a lot of people. Even if it's unlikely he'll ever make it to the Final Stage, his past performances were good enough for me to rank him this high.
4. Keitaro Yamamoto - I feel like he is the underdog of the show as although he made it to Stage 2 about four times without ever clearing it, he shows that he has great capability of beating all the Stage 3 obstacles and that he's also fast on the Spider Walk and Salmon Ladder in practise, which could lead him to achieve total victory.
5. Naoyuki Araki - He may have only competed on SASUKE for about seven years but in 36, his performance was incredible as he made it deep into the Third Stage despite failing Stage 1 in the next comp and he has only cleared once to show that his performance was a fluke. I do feel like he could go to the Final soon though as he can do the Vertical Limit Kai well but achieving Kanzen, unlikely for me.
6. Shogo Ugajin - This person hasn't competed long enough to prove that he's a determined competitor, as he was the latest member to compete in 2016, and out of only four appearances, has managed to reach up to Stage 2 in half of them. I was also surprised that he missed the last tournament as well but I hope he comes back in the next one.
