Honestly the Americans in general seemed to sour it a bit especially in SASUKE 26 when they took the show and made it their own. 27 it was less noticeable which was nice... Trust me. Less is good.

Trust me. If it's as blurry as Takeda and Shingo's runs you're good. They really did them dirty... Too dirty. Even for once I can say that the dubbed version by Challenge did better as they show both of their runs in full.

I definitely agree with this. Props to them for doing so well in 26 but among all the other issues that tournament has (if you've seen my previous posts you'll know I reaaaaalllyyy hate 26) but yeah it was really ANW centered and the results were basically spoiled. I do like Drew a lot though; I'm just glad ANW isn't in Japan anymore because there are so many strong American competitors that there would be a risk of further overshadowing the Japanese competitors. Not by Jamie Rahn though....

Can Yutaka and Kenji Darvish's reltaionship on screen, particularly in sasuke 31, just felt sooooo forced. I also don't like Hiromichi Sato, he failed the first obstacle in 29 and stil took up more time then people like wakky in stage 1.

Yeah honestly I just find it laughable how some runs from start to end are over instantly but TBS lengthen them out massively (e.g. Darvish's Stage 2 run in 31), yet digest some of the most impressive runs like Jun and Drew's down to 3-4 seconds each.

Not by Jamie Rahn though.... 26 was literally just ANW 2 and not much else. No, Japan DID air a couple American runs in full in 26 (Paul Kasemir and Brian Orosco), it was G4 that made it look like M9 built the course exclusively for 10 gaijin for them and again for 27, when in 27 the Americans had profiles and they even interviewed David Campbell. There were some very sneaky edits for NW27 - David Campbell shook Mr. SASUKE's hand and announcer Keisuke Hatsuta mentioned 27 competitors finishing Stage 1 - for NW, the camera was almost comically zoomed in to cut out David and the subtitles say 18, convieniently ignoring the 9 Americans who did finish. Drew not being aired makes sense, but he came back later on and established himself as a proper competitor. On-topic? Ben Toyer in 36. Could NOT stand him yelling "Aussie!" over and over again.

You're fine.
Ben Toyer was a bit of an odd ball you're right about that.

To be fair if I was him I would shout my country's name on every Start point as I will be so proud to represent my country.

Oh I forgot KAREN exists. Yeah no. She is slow as molasses and it drives me crazy. I get she's eyecandy but not for me she isn't!

Yeah Australians are generally more outlandish and in your face, compared to Japanese who are generally more humble etc. The contrast is what probably made him a bit of an odd ball.

That person is another annoying case of a celebrity and that the performances so far have been weak with only making it as far as the Wing Slider and is always slow as heck. Also another disadvantage is that in 35, this person took forever to complete the Rolling Hill and failed within only 3 seconds left which was pretty scary to me.

And amazingly, KAREN can be allowed to wear #51 for two consecutive tournaments. Hell. Luckily Hioki wore #60 and #71 at that time, if not, urgh.

I'm not a fan of Yukio Iketani. Shocker, right? How can I dislike the guy mocking his brother struggling on an obstacle that he didn't even get to (Sasuke 24)?
I think I just explained my issues with Yukio.

I liked Levi. He was a bit cocky, sure, but he was fun to watch and I love how the announcer said his name, haha. I like Drew because he is really good and loves the competition, and I love Jessie. Jessie should be in every Sasuke until she retires. However, pretty much all other "hyped" americans I did not like. They got too much screen time and pretty much all sucked. I guess the one I disliked the most was Orosco. Dude falls off off the Doorknob Grasper and talks about the water being cold in the interview. There is just something about that guy that makes me wish someone would punch him on-screen, lol.

I mean he DOVE for it.). I honestly wish he continued to show up for SASUKE instead of Levi as I thought he was a bit too showboating. Do your crazy flips and stuff either before or after your run, not DURING it (unless it cuts time like the corner cut in SASUKE 23)

For me, the American competitors are really hit and miss. I've already explained why I don't like Levi; especially that SASUKE 21 run I think a lot of other competitors found it quite cocky.
Brian Orosco I used to like as the underdog, but then he makes it to Stage 3 once in SASUKE 25 (and does really poorly at it as well) and now gets called Mr. USA, Mr. Ninja Warrior, American Number 1 etc. in SASUKE 26. I honestly didn't mind Brian but he was defo overrated, especially as after 26 he just fell off the radar completely.
David Campbell I thought was awesome but his success was short lived. Could've been the first American (not counting Kane) to make the Final Stage if he'd just held on the UCH for a little longer, and I'm certain he would've achieved Kanzen if he had as SASUKE 27's Final was just a rope lol.
Drew and Jessie are probably my favourites because they're super humble but also kick a**. Especially Jessie who legitimately shows most of the male competitors how to do well lol.

I'm personally a huge Levi fan just because he was the strongest American and one of the fiercest competitors (mind his grip strength) around the time that I was getting into the show (around 2008-2009), but I do understand the argument for his arrogance.
Drew and Jessie are just great representatives from the American show and both are respectful to the other competitors and just all-around nice people.
This is a huge throwback, but the one competitor that I can't stand is Akira Omori. I understand that a lot of his role on the show was as an act for Sasuke 1-4, but it really annoyed me, and I still can't believe that he made it to the final stage three times in a row (where all of his attempts were pathetic). I'm not quite sure why I dislike him, as some of the other comics with big personalities (Kojima, Kinnikun, Choshu), are some of my favorites, but his "unwarranted" success probably has something to do with it.

Interesting. I actually really liked Akira Omori just out of how much of an odd ball he is in the SASUKE world. Usually the comedians we get like Wakky, Kinnikun etc. are okay competitors at best, they may make it to Stage 2 here and there, but the fact that a wiry comedian was killing the game like no other was both impressive and hilarious at the same time. Also remember that no one trained for SASUKE at the time, which makes it all the more impressive despite the ease of the course back then.
