I have seen him in sasuke 24 stage 3 and he was absolutely beast

He stopped competing after Sasuke 27. He never got back to the third stage, let alone have a performance like Sasuke 24.

The show got temporarily canceled after 27 and he probably didn't think much of it after that.

I guess he was ashamed by what happened in SASUKE 24, and the temporary cancellation after SASUKE 27 is perfect for him to stop thinking about it.

He made it extremely far and just made a silly mistake. He wasn't ever really focused on as a competitor even after 24 though and that may had been a bit discouraging to keep training for the show. Dunno

It's annoying because if he had made the Final he would've got far more screen time than he did for his last three tournaments; also if he hadn't done badly in 25 and 26.
