Or are competitors to skilled and trained now.I think it would be really interesting if we had a contest were no one cleared the first stage.Imagine an ultra ruthless course chewing away at competitors like skin tissue. It would be pretty interesting to see the ratings and response to it aswell.

To be fair SASUKE 32 was pretty close since just 8 managed to clear and half being foreigners. I'm pretty sure 35 was somewhat similar.

What changes would you make to 36 to make it a 19 style tournament?

What changes would you make to 36 to make it a 19 style tournament? as far as I'm concerned I don't WANT another 19. O.O But honestly the time limit could just be the only thing messed with. 5-10 seconds less would certainly do it.

It's not so much the competitors as it is the course. Stage 1 is designed to weed out the bad runs and keep the decent players. The obstacles never really seem to change and when they do they typically follow the same formula. The only thing that could really take people down in Stage 1 is a new crazy obstacle nobody's ever seen.
I'd say the time limit is a problem but Jun and Drew would beat it. They're super fast. I could also see some new urgency from other top competitors that could lead to close but solid clears.

Imo its just a matter of time until Drew falls on stage one... he stated before that stage one is the hardest stage for him (harder than stage 2, and stage 2 is harder than 3 in terms of feeling comfortable), but we'll see..

ANW Stage 1 and Sasuke Stage 1 are two different stories; the former is MUCH more difficult than the latter, given that there is 1) a balance obstacle, 2) ANW is more technical and precision oriented compared to Sasuke.
