Only a brief mention of Sasuke, but an intersting article anyway: metropolis.co.jp/Oh, and Nakata made the cover on the print version. (edit to correct spelling)

Thanks, that was very interesting. I didn't know he was injured in the Olympics...

"Daisuke Nakata has appeared in music videos, competed in the Olympics and holds the Guinness World Record for the longest slam dunk from a trampoline (6.3 meters)."
I remember the video of Shunsuke Nagasaki beating the old record.
Which of the 2 currently holds it? Did Daisuke beat Shunsuke's record?
Fun fact: Daisuke was the first competitor I ever saw compete on Ninja Warrior, and at the same time the first I ever saw complete stage 1.

Thanks, that was very interesting. I didn't know he was injured in the Olympics... There's a short clip of Nakata's Olympic crash-n-burn in Nagasaki's "The Moments" video, at about 10:33. Listen closely to the audio, it'll break your heart If I screw up the link, you can find it on veoh: www.veoh.com/search/videos/q/shunsuke+nagasaki#watch%3Dv1682069f3gqQR5s

Damn, I didn't know his injury was that bad ever. Wow, knowing he was near paralyzed and still making it to the third stage in 17 and then passing stage one in 21 (I.E. his first attempt at Shin Sasuke) even more impressive.
And he was in a music video besides Brand New Day by Nirgilis?

Thanks, Rider. I've been wanting to see that video, but could never find it. Made my head hurt.
Ube, what month was that telethon? I'm asking because Nagasaki's December 29, 2008 blog entry says HE set a world dunk record. So confusing.
Oh, and obakemono, I adore your avatar. I remember Takahashi striking that goofy pose right before he tore up the first stage in fnarkin' street clothes. I thought at the time, "aww, he looks like a Japanese Jethro Bodine." The fangirly stuff came later ;D

Daisuke set it in August I believe. I have no idea what is "official" and what isn't. I know Daisuke's was on live TV and Shunsuke's was during a show called the World Record Factory. There's not much out there about Shunsuke's second attempt.

No problem. If you hadn't seen the blog entry we would still be referring to Daisuke as Daisuke "Trampoline Slam Dunk World Record Holder OMGWTFBBQ~!" Nakata because there seems to be a dearth of information on the World Record Factory show.

I remember laughing at the first time I saw it, and it stuck in my mind ever since, so I had to get a screenshot when I found a clip online.
