I've been looking through threads for information about this, but i can't find any...
What is the g-rope?
what's different about it... is it a bungee type material? does anybody even know for sure?
the UNCLI guys should spend less time with the cliffhanger and more time with ropes, IMO.

Replacing the Final Rope in the 18th competition the competitor must climb a 10m rope that is suspected to be a Bungee Rope, thus why the name was changed. It is suspected that when the competitor climbs the rope it bounces and is pulled down in order to make the climbing process slower. The rope is attached to some wires at the top of the tower thus making the Bungee Theory logical. The rope is no longer cut if the competitor runs out of time due to the Heavenly Ladder being put into place.

Yeah thats what most of us seem to think its just that it did not work that well on Yuuji since he was so light so really he was the perfect person to climb this thing.
One thing that is concrete for sure is the G rope is DEFINATLY thicker than the previous final rope.

Really? The rope thickness looks about the same to me. About the same as what I practice on at home.

Yeah... they look the same...
After watching the final stage attempt in 22 again, it doesn't really look like he's bouncing around. It looks no different than a rope climb - and he's not very good at climbing ropes.

It looks thicker to me on TV maybe its Yuuji who is so small who knows regardless the real test will be when someone like Nagano makes it there.
If they just lower the time to 30 - 35 regardless of the rope its will be the hardest final of the 3 and I see no one clearing it for a long time as it is though if there really is Nothing about the rope at all then I can only assume they put a leniant time on to perhaps induce a win? For tv sake kinda thing.

why would they change the name without a reason though? Hmm that line sounds familier from 21! I got one more pic to show of the actual thing what the G rope is fitted to anyone know if the previous one was hung on a similar thing?
(Just sent it to Chief to upload it) Clearly the rope itself IS just a rope with no real mods but check out the white thing that its fitted to does anyone think that looks like a bungee stretch or is it similar to how the final rope was hung?

My theory -- The G stands for "God".
Reasoning -- Theme / flavor. In the Sasuke 22 broadcast, they made a big deal of the unveiling of the new Final Stage as expected and hoped. The first part was to recap the previous incarnations of the Final Stage, and unless I'm mistaken, they just referred to the "Spider Climb" portion of the second version of the Final Stage by name. I posit that this third version of the Final Stage is meant to have more of a theme than the first version (and really, second also). To that end, I'm thinking the G Rope is simply an agnostic-friendly naming to keep the "climbing to the heavens" theme.
Just a theory.

Like I've said before, I think it's a normal rope but with a small, black bungee attatched to the very top of it. Anyway, I don't think it accomplished its intention.

I at one point wondered if the G mean't god rope well I called it that sarcastically going with the Heavenly Ladder beneath it. But then I thought surely theres got to be more to it than that.

(picture with an arrow pointing above the G Rope) Obvious is probably right...obviously. I don't quite understand. I see the arrow you've drawn in pointing to the thing connecting the G Rope to the structure, but are you saying that you do or do not believe the connector is some sort of bungee?
