It is realy interesing question. Who is the best athlete from Japan in stage one? It is some fast challenger like Asa or Jun Sato or some slower but stronger athlete like Tomo, Yusuke, Hioki, Shunsuke...

To me it’s Hioki. Having to always run early to set the tone, and still he’s cleared stage 1 in 5 out of the last 6 tournaments

Dai Igarashi however I haven't seen much of him apart from his incredible times.

Jun Sato in my opinion. By the way I think he is still way too underrated competitor

Takeda is and only for me. Who else would have 8 straight stage 1 clears with Nagano, and recently cleared stage 1 twice? Takeda in his prime was a beast. He's 19-9 in his 28 attempts of stage 1.

For me its either David Campbell or Levi Meeuwenberg. David is pretty simple. He has the Stage 1 record for the fastest time with 44.9 secs. Levi is simple too. Whenever he competes in Stage 1 (Besides SASUKE 22) He's always in the Top 3 for the fastest time or the fastest time of the tournament.

Thanks, I didn't read it all the way. Mainly because I'm very tired. Thanks.

I'm kinda thinking Shunsuke since he's consistent in clearing in 2 separate eras that are entirely different from one another.

No one beats Takeda's record. Period.
