I'm not so sure it's been steel at one time. What if you fell? Sure you'd have a bungee harness but you'd be falling right next to a steel ladder, no safety there. It was off to the side. See Lee Enchi's pic

yeah was on a pulley thing it probablyt just closed into the side like a door when the competitor had passed it. I guess the show felt a stationary one like that was too easy so altered it to a ropey ended one while they still had a chance and just in time seemingly.

He said that they kept testing the time before Yuuji's run so that "it would be impossible". He said that in the forum chat where everyone was watching 22 live(ish) Or maybe I was in school, actually paying attention to classes, unlike some people who didn't have class at all that day

Wow. No wonder they call it a "Metallic Fortress." Damn.

Well, if you remember the old days
Stage 1 - Forest Stage 2 - Metallic Fortress (smaller.. heh). In game: Industrial Zone Stage 3 - More Metal. In game: City Stage 4 - More Metal. In game: Rocket.
I view the stages as the evolution of humanity: How the humans were based on agriculture only, going through the forest to gather their food; how the industrial revolution started the boom of usage of metals and other material goods; how the recent technology lead to more common use of metals, with more secure and smaller structures that save up the overusage of metals; the usage of lot of metals shows the human's future, as it seems like we will be using more and more of it. Then later, when humans get there (Total Victory), they reflect back on themselves, walk down the tower, and start reflecting what went wrong.
And I compare the competitors as the human race who are able to understand what's going on with today's society.

That is a nice thought. I've been trying to categorize those stages like that for awhile, but could never land on the right idea. But you seem to get it.

Wow. And to think. It's only an obstacle course.

Damn, I knew there had to be some kind of deep meaning but I couldn't figure it out.
That decoration in the background of the track of the Chain Reaction/Downhill Jump makes more sense.

I always thought it looked like some kind of Iron Church in the background with the stain glass and the architecture. Hmm..Iron Church...good name for a gym.

These shirts look the same ones that JET TV offered last time Sasuke 21 was aired in Taiwan. They gave away 10 free shirts and I hope they do that again for Sasuke 22. I tried getting a shirt but was unlucky. Hope my luck is better this time...

Hey David, if you're still around, I have a question for you. My theory with the Slider Jump is, if you have the time, to not try to dismount while still in motion or else you may do it too early like Nagano and Paul Terek. Instead you should ride out the initial momentum shock and then treat it like the end of the pipe slider. Do you think this is a good idea or bad?
Also, what are the obstacles in Sasuke/Ninja Warrior history that you would have most liked the chance to attempt?

Also, what are the obstacles in Sasuke/Ninja Warrior history that you would have most liked the chance to attempt? The Cliffhanger for sure, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to get another shot at that in Sasuke 23. I was actually a little disappointed that they took out the pole-maze. I was sure I'd be able to get through in one fluid leap kinda like Paul-Terek did in ....18 or 19. About the Slider Jump. What you said is pretty much what I did. I was totally thinking pipe slider dismount when I jumped from the bar, and I did let the bar hit before I jumped. It didn't go as well as I had planned. I'm thinking the key may be to do more of a Salmon Ladder type jump right as you get to the end of the track to get some verticle height? Because of the angle of the net, the higher you are, the less horizontal distance you have to cover. I'm going to build a replica to practice on before Sasuke 23 though, I'm sure that will help me iron out my technique!

If I build mine before you, come on over. You know you want to.
