Well, some people can manage to stay on the Curtain Cling using their legs, so it might seem that they pass it easily.
In my opinion, Curtain Cling is still the hardest out of all (oops wrong vote >.<). It does require a strong grip, because you are only holding onto a piece of fabr..... wait I'm just repeating what others have said.
Devil's step doesn't look that hard compared to Curtain Cling, as you have bigger area to grab on. I think of it as Larger portion of 3rd ledge of Cliffhanger + lots of up and downs.
Lamp grasper can be easily done with proper technique, as shown in Sasuke 20. (conversation between Nagano and Levi)
Arm bike doesn't look threatening at all, since no one failed it, nor had big trouble with it

I agree, the Arm Bike is a joke. I do believe it's draining, though. It really looks like you have to put a ton of effort into it.

No, you aren't holding onto just a strong piece of fabric. There are thick ropes on the other side of that fabric if I understand correctly. When people originally tried the obstacle and grasped it mid-way down, it was far harder, but when people would go up higher where the rope would push through the cloth easier, the insane obstacle became merely difficult.

Where did you hear there are ropes behind it?
I thought the top was easier because you could easily grasp the wrinkles.

Yeah, that's what I always thought.
Either way, take it from me. I've tried the devil steps, cliff-hanger, and curtain cling.
Curtain cling is way harder than the cliff-hanger, the old one anyway.
The shin cliffhanger is harder but only by a little, and that's only because it takes some strength to hold yourself up after that jump.
At least for me, the newerr cliffhanger is harder, but the curtain cling easily beats every other version.
The Cliffhanger has become sort of easy. I have pretty weak fingers, and an even worse grip, and I can do the old version of the cliffhanger. Maybe with a little mroe fore-arm strength I'd be able to do the shin-cliffhanger.
So what I'm saying is.
- I can beat my cliff-hanger with ease.
- I could only get half way on my replica curtain cling, and it was a struggle for dear life to hold on.
Oh, and yes you can use your legs, no they don't help much.

I just got to say that i do not have great upper body strength but i tried every one of those obstacles. Arm Bike and Devlis Steps were easy. But when i did the lamp grasper and curtain cling i got further on the curtain cling then the lamp grasper. (But then again it just rained when i did the lamp grasper so it was pretty slippery.

I don't remember anyone falling on the Curtain Cling. Some people flew through it. The Globe Grasp took out a lot of people, some at the very start of the obstacle. I think there are ropes behind the Curtain because the competitors get quite a bit of fabric in their hands.

The Curtain Cling took out Kobayashi, Morgan Hamm, and Shingo in 3 seperate tournaments. The Globe Grasp took out 4 people, but 3 of them were Nakata. Plus, 9 people beat it in SASUKE 12, so I see why they took it out. Plus, people like Bunpei were starting to fly through the original. For the Curtain Cling, it was only until SASUKE 17 did people like Nagano and Takeda beat it quickly. Everyone else struggled through it.

Curtain Cling definitely! It was there to waste plenty of energy. If Shin-Cliff Hanger is after it without a break point then the 3rd stage will be pure doom.
