I have a few videos but they're awful since my shoes have no grip.
Three pairs.
All with no grip.

Yeah it's gonna be bigger drops than the actual Slider Jump...figure that should just make it harder and therefore better practice right?

I just wanted to say that unclesam098's salmon ladder is HARD. The sheer fact of how wide the obstacle is and how large it. This pipe slider is quite hard also due to the fact it's up hill.

You'll get it one of these days ;D. Regarding the technique issue, I believe you should try as many different techniques as possible once you start to get the hang of it, so that you can figure out the most comfortable way for you to attack the obstacle. Oti's technique is a very good way to start though, since you would have much more control over the way you fall compared to the other ways IMO.

Unclesam, when you do the stick slider portion try holding the bar like Takeda does.
On my replica, I used to hold it normally, but it was incredibly difficult because teh bar would roll and you'd lose your grip to easily.
Hold 1 hand backwards (try left first) and the other hand normally.
It should be a lot easier to hold onto the pole.

It should be. A mixed grip like that is used when dead lifting too much weight to hold onto.
Honestly, I see that as an excuse to not train your grip. Maybe use mixed grip until your grip gets stronger?

Badalight: Yeah, it is easier holding it like that, but I agree with Leon. I'm trying to build my finger strength and grip as much as possible, so doing it like that won't really benefit me.

Well I look at it as obstacle training. If I'm training for an osbtacle I'm not trying to get stronger, I'm trying to learn teachniques to beating it.
If I want to increase my finger strength, I'm not gonna go run to my pipe slider.
That's if I want to practice th obstacle.
And if I was on the actual show, I'd use Takeda's way, because there's no reason not to if it's easier. Might aswell try practicing the technique beforehand.
Besides, Using Takedas way still strengthens your muscles, just different ones. After doing my pipe slider for a while the other day my fore arm was hurting like hell (or at least the forearm for my backwards hand) and after doing it a lot it's started to get significantly stronger, which has also helped me with my cliff-hanger.
