I’ll be the first to post one that’s actually an option..!
If those on the list I’d say that the Spin Cycle would bring a cool new element to the First Stage.

Of all the obstacles on the current course one could argue should be swapped out, I don't think the Double Pendulum is one of them.

Which one would you say should be swapped?

I agree with TCM on this, the Double Pendulum will most likely not be swapped out, it's a good obstacle with a simple but unique concept. Could be even considered a breath of fresh air with creative obstacles, since the Jump Hang Kai has been long removed. But even if the obstacle is removed, I would see how the Spin Cycle would be executed in the stage. It would still be as fluid and fast as the Double Pendulum, but would give a little test to competitors' upper body strength early ahead. Upper body obstacles should not be a main component in the 1st STAGE, but this would give a bit more diversity to the obstacles, while still keeping the upper body element mainly in the 3rd STAGE.

Yeah I don't see it being replaced either. Although it still is kind of a nice treat when they do a surprise swap-out! Still would rather the Quad Steps, Rolling Hill, Fish Bone, Lumberjack Climb or Tarzan Rope was replaced instead though.
I feel like it'd be a bit slower than the Double Pendulum - especially if it had that same awkward dismount at the end from LA. That caught a lot of people out!

If they do replace it, I want to have Jump Hang to make a comeback.
But then... how about ANW9 Swing Surfer as a replacement?

I'm actually of the minority opinion around here where I'm not completely disappointed in the course makeup. The only thing I would maybe think of getting rid of in Stage 1 is the Quad Steps just to justify lowering the time limit 5-10 seconds. I have the very unpopular opinion of the Backstream being a completely fine mindfreak of an obstacle and the Reverse Conveyor no longer makes it a complete gimmie given the time limit. I would bring back either the Slider Drop or Downhill Jump because Stage 2 should always have a quick start.
Stage 3, they fixed the Flying Bar, my pipedream is for them to allow a rest point after the UCCH. There's the specialized training that Stage 3 has become and there's the UCCH + VLK combo.
But that's the keyword there: pipedream. It's fun to come up with ideas for the course but a lot of the time people don't do it with realism in mind, and then somehow get upset that their random ideas didn't happen. Fact is, they don't have the budget, and probably less so with extra tournaments to do now. It took until Kunoichi came back to get the Fish Bone to show up. Even with Kunoichi's current course, only 3 obstacles were not used in Sasuke in some capacity and that number isn't 5 because they added the Fish Bone and Ring Slider (which is just the Slide Walk without the foot holes).
The Spin Cycle can be slower than the Double Pendulum. The Roulette Row is the more interesting variation but is too big to be in Stage 1 and you'd have to completely upend Stage 2's construction to make it fit. Another thing people forget is that Sasuke is very specifically dimensioned. The course size literally rarely changes. Stage 3 has been the same size more or less for a decade.

yeah really, the Double Pendulum is like the one obstacle I wouldn't change. Compared to ANW Vegas, Sasuke's course as of late has been an absolute joke

I think if any obstacle is going I'm kinda thinking the fishbone... while it's unique, it SURPRISINGLY hasn't been a huge ninja killer as what I would think. Yeah I know it almost knocked out Yusuke and it DID knock out Ryo once but besides them, that's really about all it's done...

Honestly I love the current course in it's entirety. Don't want anything to change (except the UCCH break plz add) unless something becomes too easy or breaks.

It's not Godantobi takes out 50 people on a rainy day, but you will never go a tournament where no one fails the Fish Bone. It's taken out at least 10 people each tournament, an obstacle shouldn't be judged by just taking out the big names. There are more names than the ways to make an obstacle lethal that doesn't become a boring chore on its own. Just look at ANW for that. ANW more consistently has ideas but then that means we have to sit through a ton more boring fails because of it. The Stage 2 Wingnuts are proof of that just from last season. And ANW hasn't even found that balance of having challenging but reasonable obstacles, so I'm definitely not surprised when Sasuke struggles at that. Sasuke overstacked their Stage 3 where climbers might struggle and ANW overstacks their Stage 2 where ATS hasn't met a 10+ lache gap or heavy obstacle to lug they didn't like.
