I hope SNW brodcasted live by live streaming and in the next day SNW brodcasted. First of all, what is SNW? Is it SASUKE (Ninja Warrior)? I think it's a pretty good idea, but I don't think TBS will broadcast the tournament live on the Internet because: 1. If you are not a big fan of the show, the live stream will be really boring. 2. If you don't watch the live stream, you will be officially spoiled. 3. Editing videos takes a lot of time, so there is no way to broadcast the tournament in the next day.

I think what he means is Sasuke actually being live, and if that is the case, no. It's tapped over 2 days, being live would not work.

I don't see why it wouldn't work on the sole reason that it's taped over two days, Japan loves its long a** live broadcasts, from music shows that can be anywhere between 3 and 13 hours long events to an over 24 hours telethon (only cut by a ~2 hours long special tv drama and a couple of 10 minutes long news breaks). Considering this Sasuke live on tv in the two parts it's taped over isn't impossible but the pausing between each contestant, the possible fixing of obstacles or the cleaning of surfaces would make most of the broadcast boring as f*** and people would change channels after 15 minutes if they're not part of the small amount of people who have an interest in watching this kind of behind the scenes stuff because you can only have so many portrait videos or post run interviews.

No. This is a tv edited event and not a sports event.

Delays in taping almost always happens in Sasuke, for any number of reasons. Never mind that Sasuke has transitioned into a two day schedule, just these past few competition tapings, the rain throughout 32 caused Stage 1 to extend past a single day and they deliberately took breaks throughout the day time during Stage 1 for filming of 34 due to the extreme heat. No one watches baseball for the rain delays.

It's literally an all day event that stretches into the night, stops, then resumes the next night, people complained about Sasuke 24 dragging on for too long, can you imagine how much more dull it is when you have to wait for the course resets, interviews, waiting for the cameramen and folks in the production truck to be ready for the next run, having to consult with judges in case of questionable result, and this is if everything runs smoothly and not counting obstacle malfunction, it gets dull FAST. I've been to multiple ANW tapings and been to gym comps (and seen streams of some), it can drag on far more than you expect...

If we're gonna be REALISTICALLY speaking, then I can't see SASUKE being a live broadcast. It may work for stuff like National Ninja League and Wolfpack Ninja Tour, but I honestly don't see it working for SASUKE.
THAT BEING SAID... IMO,if SASUKE is gonna stand ANY chance of being on in the next decade, then TBS is gonna have to sacrifice its channel for the sake of SASUKE (or even shows like KUNOICHI or SpoDan for this matter),and move SASUKE to a platform like Netflix or YouTube Red.

I don't know what sacrifice means in this instance because Sasuke hasn't been a ratings juggernaut for TBS in over a decade. They have to show enough proof they care about the show before being willing to sacrifice anything for it. It's been effectively canceled twice before.

Sacrifice meaning cancel the channel altogether,so that SASUKE/KUNOICHI/SpoDan can become show(s) for a platform along the lines of Netflix or YouTube Red.

Also... losing Sasuke wouldn't have to sacrifice the entire channel... It's barely even doing decent enough in the ratings, also it's an expendable show for them anyways after they let it die with Kinniku Banzuke, then let it die again when Monster9 died, they don't have to keep it going in all honestly if we're speaking from a business perspective. Sure TBS isn't doing great but a show they air once, maybe twice a year to OK ratings isn't going to save them, especially when the majority of the money they make off of it is licensing the format out worldwide (and really that's just turned into spinoffs of Sasuke's biggest spinoff, ANW), so Sasuke is even more expendable, doubt that Netflix would even pick it up even if TBS didn't keep it, much less Youtube Red which I'm not sure if you know this, is a huge flop for youtube.

Look, the point I'm trying to make is,is that we're entering an era where the television industry is dying,in favor of TV that can be streamed from mobile devices,so I'm calling it now:it's only a matter of time before the television industry dies.

I'm sorry but you just do not understand how television works. Especially national public funded television. Stations like NBC, CBS, ABC and in this case TBS are all publicly funded stations that are a requirement for the government to be able to contact the populace in a time of emergency. This is where they transmit news. This is where when in time of emergency, government notification (stuff like State of the Union address, declaration of war, etc) are all shown to the public free over the air without paying for a cable subscription. It is literally a requirement to hold under democratic law. There is literally no way the television is going to disappear. The entertainment shows that are shown between the public addresses are stuff that goes away after a while and gets replaced by other forms of entertainment. So in essence you are asking for the impossible. It's not going anywhere. And more importantly something you are missing - Sasuke is not important. Sasuke has not made money for TBS in years. So while I understand and appreciate your passion (trust me - we all feel the same.. we wouldn't be on a board we call Sasuke Maniacs) you are not suggesting something that makes sense. As for the actual topic of discussion Sasuke will never air live. ANW doesn't even do it and it has over 10 times the amount of footage. Having been in Japan twice.. this is not designed in such a way that is made for live airing. This isn't a sporting event that is set up with exact times, running orders, etc. The budget alone won't allow for that and the format is not the same. This is meant to be edited for entertainment and not for actual competition results. Hell.. not even ANW is that way. So also.. asking for the impossible. Besides.. there's a cubic butt-ton of down time. Unless you like staring at an empty startline.. there's nothing else to watch while we wait for crap to get set up.

But what if, say, people altogether stopped watching traditional TV, stopped buying TVs (or at least TVs with over-the-air antennas), stopped buying cable, etc., thereby missing out on all State of the Unions and any government-mandated broadcasts? What would stop the laws from changing to reflect the new way(s) people consume entertainment? Perhaps government-mandated broadcasts would then be sent live through Netflix, with Netflix being required to interrupt all streams with it? I mean I'm sure the technicalities would have to be hashed out but honestly it might not be as far off as you think. (Sorry to get so far off topic)

(Sorry to get so far off topic) Well, then again, there IS stuff like YouTube TV in today's world,so something like YouTube TV could TECHNICALLY work in today's world (as a replacement for cable TV),but we'll have to wait and see what the future holds.
