While it's appreciated to see people use the report function more, given that was an issue on occasion, now there's the logical progression of increased usage: when a post is reported despite there being no significant rule breaking. I'm not referring to reports that are just requests on forum logistics such as merging posts. That's the quickest way to let staff know if something needs to be cleaned up such as when multiple threads are conversing on the same topic.
What I'm referring to are posts where the reported post is claimed to be just a spam post...when said post exists in the spam board. It's been said before but in case one is not aware, posts located in the spam board do not count towards overall post total. Now, that does not mean you have carte blanche to post an obscene amount of times at once in the spam board, as posts in that board aren't immune from being harassment, offensive or otherwise breaking a major rule.
The point being, a random post (in the random thread at that) that is days old and was otherwise ignored because it was inconsequential does not need to be reported for spam. That's happened multiple times now, let's implement more common sense about them.
