EASILY Nagano's time out in sasuke 32. BY FAR. Agreed, but with the choices available, definitely Yamada in 10.

Ugh both Takeda and Shingo are here! And even though Takeda's fail made me burst into tears, I had to side with Shingo because it was on an even greater scale being the final stage. As soon as he said, I was almost there, THAT was when I lost it...

I disagree that Nagano's performance in 32 was sad. I think it was glorious.
I voted Takeda's in 24 because I knew at the time that it was going to be his last legitimate shot at victory. Yamada in 10 on the other hand was like eh whatever he'll be back (assuming I had watched it live, which I surely did not). Looking back, it's much sadder now given everything that transpired, than it was at the time.

Nagano's failure in 19 was somewhat funny to me. It was such an epic way to botch the Flying Chute, and the shock of the crowd made it even funnier to me. Maybe I'm just a sadist . I think the saddest Nagano failure is 26. He looked so discouraged after failing the Jumping Spider. Takeda's without a doubt is the saddest one. I didn't cry but it got to me when he kneeled next to Nagano who broke down.

Given Takeda is my favorite All-Star, he was the only All-Star to get out of Stage 1, and had to follow up five consecutive clears knowing his track record, nothing comes close to his 24 appearance. I don't we've seen such an agonizing time of delaying the inevitable where the time limit isn't determined by a clock, but whenever your body gives out. Usually, a 3rd Stage failure that gets its own special music is one of dramatic despair or sudden alarm. The music for this was emotionally crushing. I don't just consider it the saddest failure, I also think one of the most well edited from run to aftermath.

But I'm with you on what you said. It didn't help that Nagano's fail that tournament was shocking all on its own and Takeda knew afterwards he HAD TO CARRY THE NAME! He even mentions that it's usually Nagano that had to carry the name and to keep the generation alive. It hurts me to see him crumble. However Shingo ACTUALLY crumbled in 7 so that NARROWLY edges it. But still. It hurts... it really does...

Kane Kosugis SASUKE 8 is the most saddest and emotional Final Stage attempt for me, way he tears up and walks away while it's raining/snowing, oh man.
