With Yuuji now failing the first stage the last three straight competitions, and with him failing earlier and earlier in each attempt as well (ESPECIALLY in this competiton, I'm still stunned over what happened), I'm starting to think that Yuuji's age is starting to catch up to him, kinda the same way that it happened with Katsumi Yamada.
Don't get me wrong, I still see Yuuji rebounding if Sasuke 34 happens, but I'm really having my doubts that he will ever be able to achieve Kanzenseiha again.

No, not really. He still has it in him, he's fast and has kept his body in great shape. His mind is just not into it these last few tournaments. It may be from work or from the fact that he's not motivated enough...or he needs a gf for extra support.
The spirit is gone from a lot of the shin sedai. They don't train as much anymore, and they certainly train together a lot less and in some cases not at all. Some of them don't care as much anymore, and some are really stressed for certain reasons.
Ryo should be really up for it after his 30 run maybe he feels beaten to the punch by Morimoto and can't be bothered to learn the new changes. IIRC Wasn't Ryo sulking when Morimoto won and Yuuji made him get up and clap?
Yuuji and the other members of Shin Sedai just don't have it anymore. Motivation is a big factor and when people start to think ''why the f*** should i care if i win some damn obstacle course'' it doesn't help either. Glad to see that atleast Asa has some kind of motivation left, it was really nice after all those depressing runs from Shin Sedai.
My main problem is that i WANT to like Shin Sedai, i really do. Strong perfomances in the past and they aren't that old. I just simply can't, because they are never smiling, they don't have any fluff pieces (thanks Inui), they don't have any good runs etc. Why should i care as a watcher? That's why i don't simply care if Yuuji fails Quad Steps or Kanno Rolling Hill.
Yuuji is my favourite competitor. He just usually kicks the course in the a** when he is not pressured so much. I just like the face he makes when he clears the first stage. It is like his own mind that he can clear the Second. Seeing yuuji fail the Double Pendulum and Rolling Hill(i am shocked) just sucks. Let's face it. All the obstacles in the current First Stage are killers. All of them. The course is just not to his advantage now. Look at the Third Stage. If he can clear the Cliffhanger, the rest are a walk in the park.
Why do we think Ryo hasn't been training as much? Has he said so?
This is what I'd like to know. As someone else said, Yuuji looked so worried and nervous at the beginning of stage 1, I always felt it was that he cares too much and psyches himself out after making so many dumb mistakes. Not that he doesn't care, he cares too much.
