26 and 29 were around 2 hours so not the first time they done this. Not going to be many full runs, especially if a lot of people make it to Stage 2/3 (I assume a lot don't if it is this short, if Stage 1 takes an hour (at least!) then only got 1 hour for Stages 2,3 and 4)

26 and 29 were around 2 hours so not the first time they done this. And that's why 26 was awful.

26 and 29 were around 2 hours so not the first time they done this. Went back and checked because I couldn't remember, 26 was 2 hours 39 minutes and 29 was 2 hours 54 minutes. 2 hours flat would be unprecedentedly short in this era.

Oh wait I forgot that would include ad time too... I didn't think that.

lol I don't want to be cynical or feel this way, but I'm 90% sure this tournament is gonna be terrible. Out of the top 20 competitors we'll probably get half full runs shown, if we're lucky. We're looking at like, what, an hour and half of content here after ads? First stage used to take that long, and then we went to the second, third, and final... and the first and second stages still had absurd cuts and fast forwards.
Doubt we'll see a Takeda/Shingo full first stage run again. Inui hasn't given them worthwhile screen time since like 29. Almost definitely not getting it now.
Even if they took just a half hour to get to the good runs starting in the 80s, we're left with an hour to watch serious competitors tackle the four stages. That's not even accounting for celeb fluff pieces and the like.
Unless Inui perfects his editing and out of no where, and makes the most clean cut and enthralling 2 hours I've ever seen, this is gonna be bad. Partially because I can't even seen good results happening with the given Stage 3.
I hope I'm wrong, but I will definitely not be surprised coming out of watching this tournament and feeling the way I did after watching 26 - and that wasn't a happy feeling.
Hopefully somebody disagrees, because this is all not foreboding well to me.
Edit: Imagine if Stage 1 is not along 32's difficulty. I think this time frame almost requires a deadly Stage 1.

I mean technically they got profile time and full first stage runs shown in 31 I think it was only because the combined time was 5 minutes or less.

I think a solely two hours even show while not exciting on paper, can be done well. Like a lot of us believe, it comes down to whether or not Inui's got his head in the clouds. Hopefully the results make for a good edit. I'm fine with setting time aside for celebs if they do well. My big request is just stop cutting clears. Digesting clears sucks sometimes, but it's a much better option than finding out someone cleared but doesn't get shown until Stage 3. Unfortunately, someone's entire run being a digest fest is an Inui Special at this point. He did it for Chen Zhu in Kunoichi 9. Yes, even with 50 competitors and just 5 clears, he found a way.
I'm not going to mind the pace; I just watched Sasuke 4, which is a breeze at just under an hour and a half with commercials cut. And I don't even think they showed 10 full Stage 1 clears. They didn't even show half the clears in the first place. Hiroyuki Asaoka was the 2nd clear of the day and made it to the Pipe Slider and his 1st stage clear was still cut. They didn't show a clear until #40 and a few had cleared by then. I will mind if it's a haphazard one. Granted, the course was significantly smaller and only Yamada and Akiyama got significant fluff pieces.

I have this weird feeling Inui's trying to fool us all into thinking this is gonna be horrible, and then it turns out a bit better than fine. XD
I would like that, but it's unlikely. I think.

Well 40% of the Kunoichi competitors cleared the fishbone but this one is harder.
Btw where did we get the 2 hour thing from?

115 seconds at the end of the Rolling Hill...
5 seconds for Quad Steps + 5 seconds up Rolling Hill... yeah around 125-130 seconds depending on how far down the hill, and whether we have a really fast/slow person here.

Nice red and black design on those rollers. Also, is it just me, or does that platform look higher up?
