Did I see Evan Dollard on the sideline for this episode? Anyone know why he isn't competing this year? He didn't compete last year either, if I'm remembering right. He did co-host the Team Spartan Challenge show last year, but wasn't in it this year. I don't recall the details, but I believe there was a post last year that his contract to co-host Team Spartan Challenge meant he couldn't compete in ANW, since it's another show on the same network and produced by the same production company.

So what exactly is farthest the fastest? I have been under the impression that for everything except the salmon ladder, the time that you hit the landing on the far side of the last obstacle completed was the runners official time for the run. For the 7 to 8 transition the time is when the runner grasps the starting point of obstacle 8. This does not conform. Ryan Robinson, Riles Nganga & Anton Reichel Made it to the Swinging Pegboard but did not qualify for Vegas. What time was used for them? When they got to obstacle 8 or when they fell from it?

That is the rule, except I hate to break it to you but ANW already has a history of editing times... Brent's 0.3, Kacy's Dallas clear time, Meagan's Indianapolis Finals 19 minutes of timed run, various USA vs The World results... (Some benign like Owen McKenzie not getting as embarrassed as he should have, some severe like the 3 way tie in the ANW6 USA vs The World...)

I'm aware of all of that. Although relatively new to the board, I have read a lot of it.
This one makes way less sense than the Meaghan and Kacy changes. Those were clears and they made the participants look better, by clearing they were moving on regardless of time. Not that I agree with either of those changes. This one makes Bonilla look much worse than her performance and creates much bigger disparity between her and the bubble boy godfather. It also creates more fodder for those who think the rule changes this year were a bad idea.
Brent's "clear" is understandable but stupid. It created a false narrative about the American ninja to go the farthest. Luckily Brian Arnold made it to the bar hop in season 5. In retrospect, given the Alzheimers the producers have when it comes to the American results in Japan, having no-one clear stage two in season four would have been a better story about the progress of American Ninjas to Geoff Britten in Season Seven..
The vs. Japan and vs the World changes are despicable.

I mean, Meagan didn't CLEAR, but she got far enough she was in the spot she was in regardless...

That sounds right. He didn't co-host it this year, they had a baseball player, so I was hoping he'd compete this year. Unless I just missed his run or they didn't show it. Have always enjoyed his Ninja Quickie vids on youtube.

I think just ill informed editors. This happened with some men in Daytona making it look like 2 more of the women should have made top 30.
They sometimes put fall time down instead of clear time, but all the lists so far are accurate for placement which is determined by time you complete x obstacle.

I am pretty sure I saw him on the sidelines for a run or two somewhere along the line this year.

Meh, it doesn't have to mean anything. Last year, 2 guys got really eliminated by someone touching the bar (Drew vs. one of the Gomes brothers, Karsten Williams vs Tremayne Dortch).
But yes, I agree that I also expected Grant to fall after what they said

I have a hunch that Geoff runs that account, but I've really enjoyed all the posts so far!

I have doubts about this one being fake, this sounds like something Jon Brown would actually post...

It's Brett Sims. I asked James McGrath and he said look at the first photo. Brett is known for handstands so that's who I'm assuming it is.

Not sure why peopel are complainging about the 2 Women moving on over men on the bubble; since at least the women that make it have to beat out the opther women instead of giving out random wildcard spots to women they chose. Since the last few season every wildcard was given to women anyways. This is a tv show and they need eyeballs so women running the coruse generate eyeballs which keeps ANW around.
Way to much made about the women and spots in my opionion. Yes the women tend to be slower then men and do peopel complain about sasuke and the wall push thing they do were women get to push less weight then the men on stage 1.
On the other subject about clears I love that they had 4 clears way more enetertaining then seeing 0-1 clear talk about yawn fest. I agree the hardest obsacle (not counting the climb) should be the 9th one and I bielieve the bar hop is harder than the peg board so I think LA got it correct. I also think it helped they had guys with very strong upper bodies and gusy that have been competiviley climbing.
FYI I am just getting caught up on the shows been traveling and then work has been crazy so I am behind but catching up on the shows hence the late posting in this thread.
