I think you guys are being too hard on the editing. Grant's run could have gone either way. Agreed. I actually didn't see a problem with the editing in that specific instance. I found myself biting my nails in regards to the situation, and that's how it should be.

I felt like that the Los Angeles course was too easy since 10 people made it to the stair hopper and there was no real ninja killer GOOD! Watching 2/3 of the field get killed on the 8th obstacle has gotten really stale over the years. It was a welcome surprise to see more than 2 finishers for once.

Didn't 10 people make it to the stair hopper in Philly last year too?

Sucks Grant couldn't make it though. I'm gonna say something mean now: I'm glad he's not going to Vegas. He's a great guy but he's seriously becoming the male Kacy. He's in each city and I feel like on the sideline for 50% of the competitors. It will be ok to get a break from him and Nathalie.

Oops POM Run for a rookie. Guess no one else clears NBC got ya After the BS they pulled off in Cleveland and Denver, this was probably one of the best POM Run handlings ever. Give it to a rookie (with a rather slow time) after like 30 mins. into the episode and it doesn't mean anything for the rest.

Personally, my ideal regional finals features 15 people beating the course. When was the last time someone had to clear the 10th obstacle in order to reach Las Vegas? ANW 5? ANW 4?

People like watching success. I'd rather a course with a bunch of clears than one or two clears. Also jfc people, I do not understand the reaction to Zhanique's kid. A kid being a kid, what a novel concept.

I quite liked the difficulty in these finals. 4 clears is a good number to have, and there was a good amount of success on the 8th and 9th obstacles.

I'd rather see one to two successes than what aired last night. They're lucky they had two new obstacles in the Floating Pegboard and the Elevator Climb as some silver-line.

Imagine this scenario: It's the last run of the regional finals and your favorite ninja is competing. Based on the results of the previous runners, they HAVE to beat all 10 obstacles in order to move on to Vegas and the POM run of the night was already given out. Doesn't that sound really exciting to watch? It sounds way better than competitors racing to see who can clear the Salmon Ladder the fastest. The 7th obstacle has been the cutoff point so many times. I'd be great if the last two obstacles actually mattered again.

I also feel like city finals are a good test to see who has the strength to achieve total victory. If city finals become a race through the course, it eliminates that.

Did I see Evan Dollard on the sideline for this episode? Anyone know why he isn't competing this year?

I love watching competorors really grit through obstacles so I would say make it tough to achieve that. I think 1-5 finishers is good for a City Finals course. However, I do agree the ninja killer shouldn't be the 8th obstacle. It should be the 9th. I think both LA last year and Venice in season 6 would have been more exciting if the Wedge and Cannonball alley wee obstacle 9.

I think there were 19 Finishers in the Southeast Finals You are correct Season 4 Southeast qualifier. I was only aware of Kamerion Wmberley's exclusion due to a 16th place finish. I thought it was solely due to that the rule was changed in Season 5 to all finishers advancing. Also eliminated were Dante Mucherino, Ryan Saegert and Patrick Cusik. Their runs were completely cut from the broadcast. The only name I recognize is Patrick Cusic for his standout role in season 2.

My thoughts on the LA Finals, in video form! Way better than last week's episode.
