Yes, they did, that was the original graphics that they redid the tournaments that had them, the formatting of the episodes also had all the graphics for obstacles at the top of the screen and their own clock blocking the original clock.

I don't know why, but the font for the timer and obstacle names like look like the Takeshi's Castle font a bit to me. Also, I kinda like how when an obstacle is failed, that square turns red. Would've looked nice on the final version.

The new graphics started in March, 2007 along with the new logo that everyone is more familiar with. This was used for Ninja Warrior only when it ran in Midnight Spank from October, 2006 to about February, 2007.

I remember on demand once in 2009 Or 2010 there was sasuke 15 and it had the old graphics. I was like what's this? I think the opening was like green and the replays had no commentary. I might be wrong, my memory's quite fuzzy.

Very few people from that era still are on SMF. Heck. I only remember the March, 2007 graphics and not the 2006 stuff. I think I found that stuff soon after but I missed the initial premiere. Viking though was already on air in ESPN2 and at that time was rerun a lot.

I remember the graphics slightly and I always wondered where they went when they changed.

I shared this a little bit during Will's 32 pre-show but I'm one of the few who is still around from the '06 brief era of Ninja Warrior though I didn't watch it under Midnight Spank. Instead, it was a random Saturday morning and I was cycling through channels and saw 'Ninja Warrior' was coming on G4 and I had never heard of it (this was back when G4 first started messing with their initial niche and that horrible failed G4 TechTV merger which alienated me from the network). So I gave it a chance; I can't remember which tournament I saw. It was a marathon, and at the time, G4 only had 14-16 so I'm gonna say 15 because I remember two things: Butterfly Wall and Bunpei's epic comeback from heat stroke to get deep stage 3.

I found the original presser on G4's site.. but I can't find the video of it.. grrr.. still looking. So far the oldest video of the course (with a glimpse of the old graphics) is still up on G4's old site. Another one announcing Ninja Fest (1) later that year but that didn't have the logo since by that point it was replaced. Edit: I found a commercial but it didn't have a logo.
