(Apologies if on the wrong board, or answered before)
So I watched the most recent episode of Sasuke Viet Nam and quickly noticed that they timed the breaks between obstacles on stage 3 (many competitors had the klaxon wailing when they started the cliffhangar)
I've always figured they had some sort of rule/limit to prevent people from takes ages, but I've never seen it formally stated.
So my question is: Does Stage 3 on Sasuke/ANW have a limit on rest times, and do we know what is it? (And if the rest is time per obstacle, or a total rest time per course)

SASUKE: 30 seconds of rest (excluding SSK 29 since the stage was timed for SASUKE AESAN OPEN CUP purposes) ANW: A full minute of rest.

I remember hearing Drew's cheering section in 32 saying he had a minute to rest

Yeah I can confirm the 30 seconds on Sasuke however the caveat is that this is also used to move equipment around so it's a relaxed 30. That said they do stare at you when they are ready and you are not. LOL Besides, in general it's not a good idea to hang around too much anyway or your lactic acid builds up.

I saw Morimoto's uncut 3-stage. If I remember correctly it was 90 seconds, at least in 30-31 tournaments. Completely reasonable when obstacles are getting harder every year.

You can actually recover in that amount of time (esp when some of the first stage 3 obstacles aren't too bad and super quick.) also lets the nerves settle.

Pretty good recovery and heart rate goes down. That is really needed before ultra crazy & vertical limit marathon.

(Apologies if on the wrong board, or answered before) So I watched the most recent episode of Sasuke Viet Nam and quickly noticed that they timed the breaks between obstacles on stage 3 (many competitors had the klaxon wailing when they started the cliffhangar) I've always figured they had some sort of rule/limit to prevent people from takes ages, but I've never seen it formally stated. (And if the rest is time per obstacle, or a total rest time per course) That has been 30 seconds with Sasuke 29 being the exception due to the ASEAN qualifications. Remember that the spin off have their own rules that TBS allows since they bought the format.

I wasn't trying to refute anything, I just heard them say it and thought I'd share that it was different!

Didn't Brent have like 5 minutes between obstacles or something in ANW4? Trying to remember.. There's definitely a chance, seeing how it was the first year in Vegas, and it was a one-man 3rd Stage. That's just my guess, though, so you'd have to ask someone else for guaranteed facts.

I was assuming Rider or Arsenette would remember, and I thought I remembered hearing something like that but I wasn't sure

I was assuming Rider or Arsenette would remember, and I thought I remembered hearing something like that but I wasn't sure Brent did get 3-5 minutes, this was also when ANW's Vegas was brand new and in questionable ratings so NBC was super pissed they spent all this money on stages people wouldn't really see so they gave Brent some extra leeway with that since he was the only person to get that far
