The movement lab teen qualifier had the same course as the adults and only two kids got past the first obstacle and no one even made it half way through the course.

So the live stream didn't work (internet connectivity issues) but I still got the entire competition recorded. Check it out! COURSE: 1. Grip Jungle (down and back with 11 holds/rings/ropes) 2. Ascending Steps to rope to cargo 3. Cannonball Alley 4. Sideways Lache 5. Cannonball Konga (Eurotramp to kong to large cannonball in one fluid motion) 6. Campus board, nunchucks & V wing 7. Balance rails 8. Peg board 9. Ring slider & cannonball slider 10. Lache to box 11. Unstable Bridge 12. Down & up Salmon Ladder (8-12 with no rest) 13. Warped Wall (with shorter run-up OR vault) 14. Spring Swing (from NNL finals) 15. Ring Toss 16. Cliffhanger (both sides) 17. Rock problem (significantly easier than NNL finals) 18. Doorknob Grasper into Flying Bar 19. Reverse Spring Swing (Swing Spring?) 20. Invisible Ladder (PROTO SASUKE EDITION ) I might have messed up the numbering. Suffice to say this is the hardest ninja course I've ever seen. That said I don't feel like it was unfair at all and I know that in a second attempt a number of ninjas can beat this. RESULTS: Men: 1. Drew Drechsel (11/20, ~4:00) 2. Joseph Leissner (11/20, ~4:30) <- this dude is 15 and LEGIT 3. Jamie Rahn (10/20, advanced on time)
Women: 1. Jesse Labreck (2/20, 2:22) 2. Jane Greenbaum (2/20, 2:46) 3. Candace Leach (0/20, advanced on progress) Jennifer Little was the third qualifier. We figured there wouldn't be three women who cleared the first obstacle so we broke it down on progress. Also re: the teens, there's a skills competition/open gym today for everyone who signed up so they'll get to try all of the obstacles. We concluded that the teens were OK with what happened for the most part.

Good luck to Philip competing at the Edge tomorrow. So if he wins.. does he become the Edgelord? I really hope I can do well. I don't want to go into too much detail about it (I like ranting so I might lol), but the past couple months have been horrible with my chronic anxiety, which in turn affected how much I trained briefly. However, I'm doing a lot better, and I have been pretty much training as much as I used to. I've been going to The Edge weekly for the past month or so, so I am used to a lot of the obstacles there. Their Cliffhanger is insane. Varying ledge sizes, a big pull up and a drop down, and the last ledge, while small, is the same size as the Vertical Limit. I know I am capable of doing well in competitions, so whatever happens happens and I need to remember that Ninja Warrior is about having fun and competing WITH, not AGAINST, others.

IMO if you aren't having fun then you are doing it wrong. So if you go with that positive attitude of going there to have fun it won't matter what results are. Enjoy the weekend! ♥

Alex (thatoneuser) is broadcasting the Movement Lab Ohio NNL competition at twitch.tv/nationalninjaleague tomorrow, the 21st, at 1pm EST. I am running third out of 90, so I'll be able to co-commentate with him after my run.

Classic City Center's NNL qualifier was today (yesterday technically, I got home very late). It was a strange hybrid of a speed and upper body course. Because of the speed element, there were 22 clears. I cleared, and got the 8th fastest time. HOWEVER, 4 of the people above me already qualified at previous qualifiers, which put me as one spot out from qualifying, in 4th.
SMF's own mattskills came in 2nd out of the 3 qualifiers, but he cannot make the trip to California. Because of this, he gave up his spot to whoever was next in the placement. That person was me. I am super proud of myself for qualifying (on a technicality, but qualifying nonetheless). Can't wait for next month!!!!!
If I would have thought about it at the time, I should have gotten a picture of Team SMF at the comp (elephant52, mattskills, and me). It was a very fun and long day.

Nice work bro. Shame I can't make it to Cali because, lets say I have to jump a small pond to get to there.

Nice work bro. Shame I can't make it to Cali because, lets say I have to jump a small pond to get to there. You know funnily enough I was reading about how a budget airline was doing flights from Edinborough to the US for 70 quid. Alas, I believe it was only to New York. Anyway back on topic, nice run Philip, you looked really impressive on that ultimate plank/I beam girder obstacle. My 2 cents on the course is that the composition looks hyper crowded, better to have 5 or 6 obstacles of a decent length than 342134123 obstacles that are all 2 feet long.
