I've been watching A LOT of Ninja Warrior this weekend. You know what? This show's pretty good. I've been so used to the lax pace of SASUKE I feel like I'm falling behind when Ninja Warrior comes on! It's so fast! I forget, no cool music themes... derp

Octopus getting farther on the Escargot than some vets in 26 is still a wonder of the universe. And it is said that in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death, taxes and Takuya Kawahara timing out in Stage 1.

It'll be interesting to see how the new era of Ninja Warrior will be done next year tbh. I hope they bring Dave back for the voice overs.

It's scary to think this marathon is almost over. It's been amazing.

I know right? I loved watching this, and I'm glad there aren't any obstructing promos like what G4 had with "The Feed".

Seeing this again makes me a kid again, and I'm glad I was able to watch most of this marathon.

Same, but I know him for being Kakashi from Naruto more than him being the voice over for Ninja Warrior

That marathon was so fun. Makes me really dream about being on Sasuke even more than usual. I don't want a world cup with clusterfuck team rules, I want to be on Sasuke. Even if I NEVER go on ANW and have zero ties with NBC my chances of being on the show are slim as hell, and they are even slimmer with NBC getting involved. Sucks being an American.

I spent the entire weekend fielding questions about the show and how American was and was not involved and how they can be a part of it. I'm sure it's giving NBC nightmares right now. LOL

LOL I'm super glad the marathon introduced new people to Sasuke. To be honest though, I'm bothered that their first introduction to the show was through American Ninja Warrior. The competitive nature of ANW, glorification of women regardless of skill level (to the point of giving all wildcard slots to them), reality TV aspects (granted Sasuke has some of this too, but it's nowhere near the level of ANW where every other competitor has some sort of "tragic" backstory and the application literally asks what the hardest event you've faced in life is), and countless other bulls**t really goes against the nature and spirit of what makes Sasuke what it is. I hope the marathon opened some peoples' eyes to the faults of ANW. Though I don't think NBC gives a s*** either way. Sasuke/NW airing in America won't change the fact that ANW is much, much more known and more popular in the US. It's also a million times easier for an American to get a spot on ANW than it is for one to get a spot on Sasuke. Anyways, good on you for helping out potential new Sasuke fans. God knows the US fanbase could use some more members.

God knows the US fanbase could use some more members. Giggles. I'd be lying if the whole weekend wasn't painful. Between attacked even by ANW competitors to people who inexplicably hate me for saying the truth it has been interesting. Still though, the experience was overall positive. There were so many new people who never had the opportunity to see the G4 version that seeing history unfold (seeing Bret, Levi, Luci, Brian, David, etc.) where NBC never gave them props for laying the foundation of ANW. It was a huge eye opener for people and I was flooded with a lot of newbie questions. It was exciting because they were genuinely interested and evened out those who were there just to pick a fight with me. The genuine questions made my weekend. The vets gushing their love for the G4 version sharing stories of their introduction to the whole Ninja Warrior world was moving. They kept sending me messages and I'd retweet them. At one point I had probably several dozen videos and screenshots from people I didn't even know on my timeline so the Japanese that follow me knew where they were in the "timeline". Yuuji getting excited the closer it got to his era.. Inui laughing at the 25 reasons to worship Ninja Warrior clips, Kong commenting on how old he is looking at his clip of showing up to Sasuke in streetclothes and hair.. Kanno loving every photo that was tweeted of him. LOL It was a surreal experience. We can't ever change where and how people came to know of this little world.. but I'm happy they found it. We are vast and varied in opinions - I for one having had the 5 year hiatus am happy I can freely talk about the Japanese Sasuke again. Poor guys who didn't follow during this time are crushed Nagano's gone. I'm more worried about how NBC is going to impact the Japanese show. But I'll deal with that disaster next year on my own. I'm so glad I'm out of that world. Just in time.

It's weird that they didn't show Sasuke 1 though.

I wonder if they'll show Drew, Brent and Kacy in their broadcast or do that american solo event bulls**t again. TBH that is a separate thread. That is my number 1 concern with Comcast buying their way back in to Sasuke again... For now if possible just keep this particular thread on the marathon. Heck you can start a new thread on wtf is going to happen next year. That is something of concern.

Sad that a few ANW fans seemingly won't give Sasuke a chance, going by your experiences with them on twitter. But it's true that Sasuke fans and even some competitors had a great time watching and reminiscing this weekend.
