First time since sasuke 9 where the cliffhanger was cleared on its debut I think this is probably the most significant fact mentioned so far. The Cliff Hanger is absurdly difficult in ANY form, but clearing the more recent iterations is even more absurd, and clearing the newest, most difficult iteration without it having been seen before is the most absurd. This is what boils my blood about the horrible decision to not give a break after the Cliff Hanger. Anyone who beat that monstrosity deserved to have a very good chance at a 3rd stage clear. I'd even go as far to say it was a slap in the face to the competitors to do that to them. I get that it was a budget issue, but simply taking away a rest platform is a cop-out to increase the difficulty. I don't think it should have been UCC, break, then new Vertical limit. I like the fact that they want to make the obstacles after the cliffhanger tougher. But I feel like it would have been easily within budget to just change the movement of the VL itself. For example, have the VL segments swing laterally so one either must lacks or generate a swing ON the VL. Or, have a small VL segment that slides along a track (a la the tilting slider from ANW 7 Houston). It just seems that if they could add movement to every other obstacle (Sidewinder Drops, cliffhanger moves), they could have allowed some sort of swing to the VL

It's been a while since Nagano actually outshined every single Shin Sedai this time around. Also with Shingo's fail on the double pendulum he now has a 50% clear rate of the 1st stage... THAT SOUNDS BAD...

Worst Performance by Yuuji Urushihara First time Someone failed the sidewinder First time since sasuke 9 where the cliffhanger was cleared on its debut Second time the second stage has a 0% fail rate First time since Sasuke 26 where the first 50 competitors failed the first stage First time since Sasuke 26 where the first clear in a stage is from a foreigner. Was Sasuke 26 still the Levi days or was this the Campbell, McGrath, etc era (for Americans)? Also, is this the 3rd or 4th time a foreigner went furthest: Kane in 8, Levi in Sasuke 19 or 20, Drew in 32? Also, what do you think tripped up Yuuji so much about the Double Pendelum? It seems totally within his comfortable skill set. 1. 26 was ANW2, which was the one where Levi qualified for Vegas but broke his wrist or something and couldn't compete at Sasuke...he injured it on that Jump City show but I forget what he actually injured. 2. You can also add Lee in 26 to that list 3. Might've been the clock. I think he tried to rush when he missed it a couple times and wasn't fully committed to the jump

This was first renewal tournament where American went furthest. Incorrect. Levi Meeuenberg in SASUKE 20. EDIT: My bad, I didn't read that correctly.

This is the first time ever there was a trampoline obstacle that wasn't a variation of the Jump Hang or the Jumping Spider.

Oh you are right. And no they aren't the same thing. That's why I loved the tournaments that had BOTH in the line up just to trip up people thinking that it was the same technique.

So, is Torisawa's starting platform "fail" the earliest fall on record now? (I suppose unless someone fell while getting onto the starting platform...)

The dude who couldn't take his pants off. That guy didn't actually fall-fall until the steps, though, even though it was failure from the beginning.
