The thread says it all. What did you like, dislike and absolutely hate about this years show? Would love to hear your opinions

Good: Not ending at the Cliffhanger as many expected. Jun Sato with an amazing comeback.
Bad: Rainy conditions messing with runs
Ugly: The new stars struggling in stage 1.

Good: seeing Jun Sato again and seeing Drew clear
Bad: rain
Ugly: Nagano timing out

Good: Lots of drama overall and the return of Jun Sato was amazing.
Edit: Return of Brent was pretty great too
Bad: Second Stage timer, Jun Sato triple fast forwarded...
Ugly: Weather killed some people's runs and the amount of stars failing the first stage.

Good: Nagano's swan song, Drew impeccable performance, Kawaguchi's pressure handling
Bad: Shingo and Takeda. They did well but now they have some serious weight to carry
Ugly: Asa, Yuuji, Ryo, Kanno, Kong etc. I didn't know if I had to deal with veterans or rookies. Stage 1 was brutal

Good: Kacy nearly clearing, hard Stage 1, near-impossible Stage 3, Brent's return, Drew being Last Man Standing, Yusuke Suzuki.
Bad: The rain postponing Stage 1 to the next day, Nagano timing out by a mere second, Anastase failing the Flying Bar.
Ugly: All of Stage 2, the top competitors failing in Stage 1 and the horrible editing.

Good: Jun Sato, wow what a comeback. Also Drew clearing the UCCH was awesome to see even though that direct transition is ridiculous.
The bad: Nearly all veterans and stage 1 mixed together. Did NOT expect that.
The ugly: THE WEATHER!!

Good: Kacy nearly clearing, Nagasaki getting airtime and doing well, Sato coming back, Drew's amazing run. Wreath Man tearing it up. Brent returning in style. New faces to Stage 3. Nagano's ceremony.

Bad: Stage 1 being too rigorous and Stage 2 being a complete joke. Seriously what was that? Shinya not being shown. Asaoka's Sensei title being stripped away (though the new one is pretty decent)

Ugly: the weather. How it bested Kong. Kawaguchi. The way Nagano went out. Asa. Kanno. Yuuji. Ryo. Just brutal. Also Shingo and Takeda being treated like afterthoughts while giving the freaking band guys airtime like special snowflakes. It also took ten minutes to show the first person. The editing was awful.

Overall I honestly did not like this tournament very much at all. The good was all good but everything else really grinded my gears.

Good: Shunsuke actually not being cut/digested... Jun Sato's return, Tomohiro clearing without a hitch

Bad: So many shocking fails... Hioki, Yuuji, Ryo, Kanno, Asa, Kenji, Hiroshige...

Ugly: Shingo and Takeda being digested and also failing... editing and weather...

Sad: Nagano timing out which put Shingo into TEARS... Something he stated... was the first time he cried like that...

GOOD:Stage 1's low clear rate,Stage 3 being much more balanced is failures,Darvishu failing,the overall shock factor on stage 1& Nagano's speech.
BAD:All the veterans failing stage 1 in weird places,The most pathetically easy stage in Sasuke history,& Jun Sato.
UGLY:Jun Sato clearing,cutting Perry,lack of fuzzy microphones,& Nagano failing.

Good: Wreath Man putting Stages 1 and 2 on BLAST. Again!
Bad: The weather gods putting a handicap on the course to prevent the Wreath Wrath
Ugly: Having to wait another year for the Return of the Wreath

When is the last time we've seen Nagano and Shingo cry? If Takeda started bursting into tears, I would've went into shock.

The Good: Shunsuke getting spotlight, adequate focus on Nagano, Nagano FINALLY beating that stupid wall (I was seriously thinking his first and last tournament ever would end on the wall, seeing him beat it was so amazing.

The bad: The new cliff-hanger. Cool design, but again, I wanted a more balanced third stage. I'm not super keen on the third stage being just about the cliff-hanger.

The ugly: The weather. Honestly Sasuke has been pretty lucky weather-wise over the years. I guess they were due for some bad luck.


Now while the weather robbed a lot of people, I think it made this tournament incredibly interesting and memorable. I'm rarely been this frustrated while watching a Sasuke tournament before. I was legit screaming. Shunsuke's and Kawaguchi's fails especially just made me throw my hands up.

However, if THIS is the last Sasuke... what a downer to go out on. Weather problems, Morimoto not competing, Nagano retiring, poor results across the board... damn.

Good: Drew doing the best and clearing the UCCH. And Nagano's farewell.

Bad: Stage 1 being too hard and Stage 2 too easy.

Ugly: The weather conditions screwing some participants.

Good: Wreath Man crushing it again, Drew making it further than anyone, Nagasaki getting full runs shown

Bad: Jun Sato getting the triple digest treatment, Nagano's tearjerking end

Ugly: The weather conditions screwing over Kongu, Darvish, and Asa

Good: TBS noting that Nagasaki exists and was once one of the most likely to achieve complete victory, Darvishu failing stage 1, The Tackle Machine, the wonderful weather and Kawaguchi's awesome battle with the slip and slide flying bar on stage 3.

Bad: Kishimoto getting cut, Jun Sato and Andre Sihm getting a triple digest, giving Takeda and Shingo 98 and 99 after failing the first obstacle in 31, Kongu getting f***ed over again.

Ugly: Kanno destorying his body... to fail stage 1, Nagasaki and Suzuki on stage 3, stage 2 needed a much longer time limit and Nagano should have retired after 27, from a viewer's perspective.

3.) That extra competitor Yamada return.

1.) Nagano farewell performance.

• Drew is just ridiculous;
  
• All the shocking fails- Hioki, Asa, Kong, Yuuji, Ryo (if you consider his shocking), Darvish, the Black Tigers dude;

• Nagano blizting up the Lumberjack Climb as if he was 30 years old;
  
• The tears from Shingo and Kong during/after Nagano's run;

• Jun Sato surprising everyone by coming back way better than ever;
  
• Wreath Man is too much fun to watch;
• Torisawa being funnier than every so-called comedian out there;
  

Bad:

• Morimoto not competing;
• Stale 2nd stage (though I understand why);
  
• Digesting important competitors;
  
• The editing was a bit strange. I didn't understand what it was whilst I was watching it, but something was off;
  
• I really think they should have shown the womens' runs like they did in 31, including Kacy's;
• I was hoping Kanno would stare at the Tackle and have it move for him, like he did in 31 (that's why they fast-forwarded him )
  

 

Ugly:

• Ryo on the Tackle
  
• Some competitors who took their sweet time trotting around on the Warped Wall before actually attempting (probably due to fatigue but still), especially Nagano;
• Drew having to attempt a slippery Warped Wall;
  
• That disgusting transition from the UCCH to the Vertical Limit;

Nagano's revenge on the Soritatsu Kabe
Drew is the first American since Kane to beat the CH
Nagasaki snapping the 3 tournaments of getting fast-forwards & cuts.

Bad:
Weather obviously screwed up the runs
Injuries involved with Kanno (and I think someone mentioned that someone else got injured but I could be wrong)
Easy Stage 2, make it a speed course with a stricter time limit.

Ugly:
Filling in the role of Shunsuke Nagasaki is Jun Sato!
Editing was really BAD
New stars can't pass stage 1
Couldn't promote Nagano's run more, I wanted a speech at least?
