Why is everyone here hating on Kacy??? Are you girls jealous of her? She achieved an incredible feat two years ago and they're saying she's OVERRATED!? Really? -_-

Completing one of the easiest finals of all time at a blistering pace of 15 minutes meaning FULL rest and recovery between obstacles. She should have an asterisk on her completion as it is. The show was desperate for a woman finisher and if you look at her performance in all seasons she is not even close to the level of some of the other women.

1. Make sure your titles aren't vague because based off the original title (which I changed), it looked like you posted something in the wrong board.
2. Really? Two years after it happens and people are still complaining about Kacy? Was she overexposed to some extent, of course she was, but her biggest sin happens to be timing. She wasn't the first woman to make it to the Warped Wall or even the first woman to qualify via Top 30 but she was the first to complete the Qualifying and City Finals courses and the first to qualify via the 'win and in' method. She wasn't the only one that season, but those are big enough achievements to have, on top of her size. Do the other women deserve praise and recognition, of course they do. Unfortunately, she beat them to the initial shock of it happening.
Trying to fault someone for being the most famous makes no damn sense. Criticize NBC marketing for not spreading the wealth, if anything.

I think everyone needs to take a step back. Yes, ANW milked Kacy to death, to the detriment of other equally talented females (Jesse, Meagan, etc) but still she completed a tough (not the toughest but not easy) city finals course. I think because of NBCs promotion people are now trying to put down Kacy's accomplishment. She is still the only one to finish a City Finals Course.

Not sure what you mean by people being ignorant. Are you saying Kacy should be higher on the list, or that those other women should be on the list and Kacy should not, or what?
Regardless, lists like this are 100% subjective and should not be used for anything other than entertainment purposes. They compare apples to oranges. Serena Williams would own Holly Holm in a tennis match, and Holly Holm would own Serena in a UFC fight. Simple as that.
I think it's cool that Kacy is on lists like this. They bring exposure to ANW/Sasuke. And she's going to be the one they use instead of those other women simply because of her raw popularity. It's certainly debatable whether or not she's actually stronger than them, but that is another story.

That fifteen minutes is *combining* her Qualifying and City times. 14:25.71 if you want to get down to specifics, which you need to round up to get to fifteen, which again is *combining* her two times.

I heard 15 just for her run.. seems the timer was fudged but whatever. Agreed that it's all subjective and her viral video put ANW on the map. On a humorous note when I called my Credit card to put a travel notice on it they asked where I was going and what I was doing. The lady literally said "oh that little girl that won the whole show? She's amazing isn't she?" I just laughed and said I was going to the Japanese version which is 19 years old this year. She went on for a few minutes how a midget could jump up that wall is amazing and more girls should be like her. I just stayed quiet and thanked the lady for putting a travel notice on my credit card. LOL

Even if it was 15 edited in half, that's the risk of a win and in method. It's on her to be faster when time matters.

It doesn't matter how long she takes, the most important thing is she completed it, the rules state that if you complete the course, you move on to the next round regardless of time.

Rules also state you have a max 30 seconds between obstacles, just not public rules. If you know how the body works being able to have full rest to let your body handle the acid build up makes many of these obstacles trivial to the better competitors that might have failed on them.
If you ever get to go to a live one there are people on the side with a timer yelling at competitors that they have to go and counting down the seconds. Kacy hasn't been the only one that has gotten blatant help with extended rest times, but no one should it is unfair to all other competitors and taints ninja warrior.
And yes they changed her official time because it was that egregious that even they knew they had to.

Nah we know all about that. I think what most aren't happy with is how much NBC promotes the living hell out of her as opposed to the others. I don't care either way. I was more upset with how NBC originally tried to erase Mika's history to prop up Kacy. They have since backed off of that and now officially say "ANW" history instead of Warped Wall History. I don't have any issues with Kacy. NBC we already know and I beat that dead horse. I just found the story with my credit card company funny as all hell. As for the article I think it's cool that any magazine, show, etc. would think of ANW in their issues. Just shows much much Ninja Warrior is growing. If anything, NBC is doing a good job on that. I'm sure if another person does something similar (like a woman clearing the first stage) that person would be hyped to all eternity. NBC knows who it is that opening the doors to sponsors and advertisers that wouldn't otherwise be open. Kacy is a star and they know it. Thanks for the link! Keep them coming. ♥

Look, none of us are questioning how inspirational Kacy is. She put in a great run in Series 6, and has done so much for young girls getting into ninja warrior and female athletes in general. She is a great role model. But that does not make her perfect.
We have to look at the bigger picture. Sure she was good. But she did what she did on one of the easiest city final courses ever, and with a time that was laughable compared to almost all other finishers. And now, more than a season later, she is still receiving a disproportionate amount of attention compared to other competitors that frankly, deserve it more.
So many women did better than her disappointing performances in Season 7, with Jessie and Meagan immediately coming to mind. But these great female competitors are still getting left out in favour of Kacy, who has all the glory, all the fame and all the screentime. I find it ironic that for someone who has inspired so many more women to join the fray, she actually takes attention AWAY from them with her treatment by NBC. I get that it isn't her fault and NBC sees her as a PR dream, but something needs to change moving forward.
In Season 8, Kacy needs to prove that she isn't just a one-hit wonder, but a strong female competitor who can be consistent. Because at this point, she gets so much hype that she simply doesn't live up to. Either that or give the limelight to other female competitors who have earned it more recently, and with arguably better performances. MightyKacy needs to live up to the title, or step out of the spotlight.

And even if she does fail again, i find it highly doubtful that she can just go up to the producers and ask them to stop promoting her, with any hope that they'll listen to her.

No one is blaming her, I think by this point it sucks to be her getting all the attention and performing really middle of pack at best for the women all, but season 6. That has got to be hard to not live up to the hype. I blame Nbc and I think it a huge mistake not to cultivate more women to inspire and motivate. And stop giving them advantages.
