Does the Stick Slider officially count as an obstacle? Or is it counted as a path between the Salmon Ladder and Swing Ladder/Skywalk/Net Bridge
And don't argue that G4 counts it as an obstacle, they also counted the Brick Climb an obstacle.

I consider an obstacle something that can be failed (whether people do or not). So yeah, I'd say Stick Slider's an obstacle.

But since they've fixed the bar and given it stoppers in 21, it can't be failed like that anymore.
And I think it still counts as being able to fail a path. Yamada's third Stage 2 run in 12, Another Yamada failing after the Cross Bridge in 15, Yamamoto on the Halfpipe Attack in 20, Thats all I can think of I can post here

You can still lose your grip from it.. and it wouldn't be failing the Salmon ladder at that point.. so yes it's still an obstacle. Considering as well the landing mat is part of it. You can drop too early and still take a bath and it will be considered a Stick slider fail.

The Japanese announcer called it the Brick Climb, but that's not considered an obstacle.

Brick Climb wasn't made up by G4, the name is in the Japanese broadcast.

I'm doing the 22 blog as we speak (had to redo all my screencaps.. gaaaah) and they have it listed as obstacle 3. That's enough for me.

I'm too lazy to check. if it's listed in Japanese with a number on the fly by at the beginning of the stage when they are describing it.. then yes.

Brick climb was an obstacle.
Anything that wastes time is also an obstacle. Its pretty impossible for you to fail on it, but it requires strength to climb up it nonetheless.

But the Stick Slider is an obstacle, TBS counts it as the 3rd obstacle. Look at any TBS broadcast and it will be there.
