On Iketani's Facebook account, it's been confirmed that on December 23rd is "The Greatest Sports Men's top battle"* (* = This is Translation on Facebook) on TBS TV. Naoki Iketani is in the show as age 42 as confirmed.
I don't know if it's official yet, Cause he just posted it earlier today. But if anyone has any idea if its confirmed, I would love to hear it.

Since there's plenty of tokusatsu vets in this, the news already spread on toku fan Tumblrs. Copying contestant list with romaji names, courtesy of Silverwind on Tumblr (at silverwind.tumblr.com/post/134893842488/sports-danshi-this-year-contestants-sekiguchi ): "Contestants: Sekiguchi Mendy, Mori Wataru, Sano Gaku, Iketani Naoki, Masato, Kubota Hidetoshi, Onuki Yusuke, Inoue Masahiro, Robin, Kuriyama Wataru, Katono Taiko, Nagase Tasuku, Hirata Yuya, Takahata Yuta, Yokohama Ryusei, Kansyuji Reo" GAROOOO... Okay, getting that out of the way, although I am amused that we have the lead and main villain from the most recent live action GARO series (plus, Masahiro's Kamen Rider Decade and the reason I started watching Sasuke, since his fail in Sasuke 24 was cut from NW 24). Also, TBS, you're missing out on extra fanservice by not putting Taiko in tighter shorts, just saying (at least one fan already noted that the usual THSOFEP (thanks Ube) means he'll be shirtless at some point, LOL). Umiyuki on Tumblr translated the event listing at umiyuki.tumblr.com/post/134907778763/silverwind-sports-danshi-this-year (leaving in her commentary because I think it's funny): "1. The Fence (that fence-climbing event that Gaku always dominates) 2. Monster Box (the most incredible and terrifying thing you will ever see) 3. Heavy Press (new event) 4. Hard Jumper (jumping endurance event introduced last year) 5. Power Wall (two dudes push a wall at each other) 6. Shotgun Touch (the event that clinches Mandy’s win every time now that they changed the rules)" Edit: I looked at the news article that was a source for the Tumblr stuff, at mdpr.jp/news/detail/1546644 , and saw the times were 7:56 pm to 10:54 pm JST on 12/23. For once I'm ruing work closing early the day before holiday closings, since that's normally my night to work but instead I'll be commuting during this, since IIRC that's 5:56 am to 8:54 am ET. Guess I'll be using mobile data for that last hour...

Not likely.
My computer is incapable of recording, and will likely cause a thermonuclear implosion should I attempt it. In addition, blt024 always handled our recordings, and I haven't seen him in awhile now. I think yamfriend or TCM are capable of recording, but seeing as how they are on hiatus right now, I wouldn't count on a recording from SMF.
There may, or may not, be a recording from some other group, one that likely just records all japanese TV in general (there's some subreddits dedicated to this), but there most likely won't be one from SMF.

{Spoiler}Very surprised that Sano won, but there were problems that Mori Wataru, Masato, & Sekiguchi Mandy had in ways. The highlight of the show was Iketani got 3rd place. It still proves that He still giving guys in 20's a run for their money. And yet, He's 42 YEARS OLD. I hope he keeps continuing competing for as long as he can! Congrats to Sano Gaki, for not attempting the shot gun touch!

Congrats to Sano Gaki, for not attempting the shot gun touch! {Spoiler}It's not Sano's fault he only had to do the Shotgun Touch once and not at a very challenging distance. He had enough of a point cushion that the others (Mendy and Iketani) had to do or die on their very first attempts. Sort of anti-climatic but that's the way it goes. If Gaku doesn't win the Hard Jumper (because he will always lose ground during the Power Wall) it may have been more of a contest.

I hope Naoki comes back to SASUKE soon (I know he was at 31, but he didn't compete).

My laptop is a relic to the point it needs to stay connected not just to an ethernet cable but its charger so recording would not have been practical since I'd run the risk of overheating and sending it to hibernate suddenly.
But it's definitely around the web, just a matter of trying to find a way to obtain it (need places to watch on their sites, cool; actual link for our own archives, I'm inept in that realm)

A copy has been uploaded in the usual place (if you are new and have no idea what/where that is, please PRIVATELY send a PM to one of the admins/mods to ask where that is discretely).

Pleasantly surprised at Iketani getting 3rd overall. Did better than guys literally twice his age and even over that. Loved the 3-way tie in Monster Box. Wish Shotgun Touch was more of a contest, but Sano wins 4 of 6 and was in the final for the new event. Good on him. Would like someone not Sano or Mandy to win next year though (hopefully there is a next year).

For people that have watched more Sportsman than I have: Is 12m20cm that hard of a distance? I feel like I've seen people get much better than that, although those are probably from professional athletes.
