I recently saw a thread regarding a short video series someone else made about Sasuke (best and worst obstacles), and it led me to discussing this video idea I've had for quite a few years, a top 50 countdown of the greatest competitors based on historical significance and performance. A few people have already expressed their interest in this project, which is great because like I said I've had this idea for years, I've already written out the script and am in the process of compromising tons of video footage for each competitor.
For each and every competitor, there will be a fluff piece about 1-2 minutes for each with insightful commentary and video footage of their best moments. In the background will be their theme music to keep the flow going, and also for respect out of their portrayal on the show. Obviously since these will get progressively longer per competitor, the video will be split into parts, 10 people per video (that's 5 parts in case you can't do the math). I'm aware that 50 is a lot to fit in to one big project, I just want to make sure as many competitors as possible get the attention they deserve. It was immensely difficult to cut certain people, but overall I'm pretty happy with the way the list has turned out.
So why am I doing this? Well I've been watching the show religiously for about a decade now, ever since I first saw it at the age of 9, and I've taken the time to research as much about the Japanese show as possible and create a list of fairness to those who have given it their all and have made their contributions to the show's long-lasting stature that has become the international hit it now is today. I'm not doing this for profit or money of any sort, it's all in pure fun to show how much passion I have for this show and getting people to become more aware of its legacy.
To do this, I'm going to need you guys' support and interest for this video project to make the final cuts. And yes, this thread will likely contain spoilers about who MAY or MAY NOT make the list, or results of SASUKE 31 or any of the past competitions. I already kinda started on this a while back, but it got a bit rough and patchy since I'm not the most experienced in the filmmaking department. So please, if you have any interest in this or any questions about the outline or whatever might be associated with it in any way, feel free to ask and I'll answer to the best of my abilities.
One last thing, keep in mind this is for entertainment purposes and is all subjective. Respectful commentary and opinion sharing is more than welcome from all of you.
