I love how you guys are saying the final stage is too easy because he almost won. Well guess what? He didn't. He failed. It doesn't matter if he missed by 3 feet or 30 feet, he still failed.
If every person who attempts the final stage just misses beating it, that still makes it hard because no one has beaten it.
Don't let your eyes deceive you. There's a reason the rope has a new name. It's because it's really different now.
Basically, I believe that this final stage is the deadliest because it gives you a false sense of confidence, but it will go away once you realize that you're not moving anywhere.

Does anyone realize this is the first final stage without Nagano since Sasuke 8?

Thank you sess this is what i have been trying to say ever since we saw the final, this a a hard final stage and while 45 seconds is eh, its still difficult and the other 3 courses are so much harder than before to make you more tired

I can't say I'm a fan of the final stgae.
It may be true that the final stage is harder than it looks, but shouldn't it be the intention to make it LOOK hard? It is a TV gameshow after all. Actually, I'm not a producer of game shows, maybe you get better ratings if the obstacles look more achievable. It just doesn't seem to look as hard as the previous final stages. But maybe Yuuji just did really well at the beginning and hit a wall (kinda like Yamada in Sasuke 3...)
Oh also, I do miss the rope being cut when the time runs out. Yamada's drop in 3 and Nagano's in 13 were a good visualisation of the "so close, yet so far" aspect of the final stage, in my opinion.

Considering it's a Rope Ladder I think if they set it up right they can still make it so the Rope is safe to drop. Just tie the ladder to the G-Rope and when the rope falls the ladder goes down with it.

Or with the way Yuuji was (he was behind the ladder from the camera POV), they could drop him but fly him backwards and the lower he gets, the more forward he goes (if that makes sense). Think of how the gladiators were in Assault in the new edition (AGUS), when they got hit they flew back and lowered in the water.

Notice the extremely different budgets of the two shows? And considering your support is coming out of a hole in the top, I don't think that's going to happen

After re-watching (again) the final stage attempt, I just now realized that the rope is attached to a bungee-like cord on top. This means when the rope is climbed, each pull will bring down the rope causing less distance to be achieved with each pull. I guess the producers came up with Bun-"G" Rope.

Double checked, seems you're right, not really noticeable until this shot though (Funny-ish story, I had the file named GRope.png , Then when I uploaded to MajHost which De-Capitalizes all your file names, I noticed that was a mistake and had to take it down, then rename the file and upload it as G-Rope.png )

LOL you are late to the party Rider on the grope thing... Which is surprising to say the least... Although I already did make a dirty joke about it already because you figure a rope is made up of a bunch of strings.... And I don't know, you don't really catch on when you see it in japanese

We watched Navi together not the broadcast. Seriously though.. that's a given when you see a word like that I'm not claiming to be the first.. heck.. it's only in a list of quite a few other dirty jokes.. Yeah I thought the bungee thing was there all along. I remember seeing many of the guys bounce up and down whenever he was dropped from the tower when they failed the final climb.

I know, I mean I thought up that comment while I was watching in the broadcast itself, so excited about seeing the Final Stage in action I didn't say anything during the forum chat though I think the bouncing after the drop was from the bungee cord on the harness. But on the rope climb I notice it's always going all different ways up and down, Especially when someone grabbed it from the Spider Climb and it pretty much just came down.

From experience, any rope of considerable length will have at least a little give or bounce to it. This is especially noticeable in Sasuke 1-4 when competitors would prepare before the start by pulling the remaining slack while still seated.
