I've never seen a "fan" forum consisting of so many people that dislike something. lol Maybe I'd feel the same way if I watched Sasuke. Thankfully I haven't had it spoiled for me yet, so I still think ANW is fantastic. ANW criticism will never go away, just like the myth--and constant straw man argument--that those of us who like and prefer SASUKE think that SASUKE is absolutely perfect and flawless. Anyone who follows the SASUKE section knows that SASUKE gets criticized there all the time.

We criticize it because we care. I could rant on about the flaws of Sasuke as well.

Look, SASUKE has faults, ANW has faults. Difference is a some of ANW did some of them on purpose, and they have substantially more flaws to nitpick at. Believe me, if SASUKE was the f*** up show and ANW was near flawless, my opinions be swapped and I wouldn't even be on this forum. But as it stands, I'm not changing my opinion of it. It's boring, full of unnecessary rules and their obstacles are too repetitive. But really, neither one is flawless.

It seems like most of the things that the article praises - normal joe competitors, everyone supports everyone, etc. - are not the same things that people here mostly complain about. (That these are things that were inherent in the Japanese show but to a lesser extent mainly because of the absence of celebrity competitors in ANW is beside the point, I suppose. Although that last graph is a bit grating.) Complaints here seem to focus on politics, the way the show is presented, especially when it goes outside of the regular format (US vs. the World), and well, everything that is not about the running of the course (outside of problems with obstacles).
Sidenote: I'm not sure but are there any interesting reality show formats that didn't start overseas? Survivor, American Idol, Big Brother, Ninja Warrior, Dancing with the Stars are all ideas from other countries.
