The first part is right. The middle part is that of the programs that aired at the same time, nothing topped 15 percent. The highest was NTV's Astonishing News which had a 13.8. Everything else was close to each other.

I'm curious if there is a breakdown per hour somewhere. Last year was the first time they had a huge surge in viewers the longer the show ran. I'm curious if it was the same this year. Interesting that the night was so tight. Same with USA television, the market is smaller so they fight for every decimal point. Curious where she got the numbers though as it's not posted online anywhere else.
Seems like it. I heard 2nd place elsewhere so I'm curious now of the hour breakdown. Placements are key in this story and probably why we got the immediate go ahead for 32. The marketshare being so small actually helped since nothing got above 15%. Solid numbers and trended both worldwide and locally in Japan. I'm assuming their numbers were higher later in the broadcast if they were so quick to say yes. That and fan reaction back to them about the results.
Nothing got higher than 13 though so you have to see it in context with the rest of the night's competition which was light for a Wednesday night. They got 2nd place (which was confirmed elsewhere) which in the grand scheme of things, for Tokyo that is good. Remember the sample is only Tokyo so I'm curious how they did elsewhere. USA ratings are national so it's a bigger sample but even then they splits are low with a 2% being zomg awesome. It's all about perspective.

Would you guys think that SASUKE could had higher ratings if its on a friday night?
Television landscape in Japan is much different. Currently terrestrial television is in crisis in both East and West markets as the youth shift from television to online to no television at all opting for Youtube, Nico Nico, Hulu, pirate streaming or no television at all. So whatever is left in television fights for every decimal point which is why TBS also looks at placement for the night as a whole and per hour. The USA also has this issue fighting cable and other online markets for every decimal point so they share that issue. I don't think night would have changed that. It is all down to whether they turned on the TV at all and enough watched TBS to warrant spending money creating another Sasuke Japan.
