This is taken from a 2ch thread so mileage may vary: 13.8% 19:00-22:54 NTV ザ! Now I don't know if the other commercial channels figure in NHK or not since it is public TV. Straight up, the show was second to the top show of the night which ran the exact same time as SASUKE did, from 7:00 to 10:54 and SASUKE also beat a variety show that went on a bit longer than SASUKE did. In the middle of SASUKE, a drama takes the 2nd place spot for an hour but Houdou Station can't keep the ratings going and SASUKE retakes the 2nd place spot. So for three out of four hours, (not including NHK) SASUKE hit 2nd place which is just as important to TBS as the rating itself. Tack on NHK the show goes everywhere from 2nd to 4th depending on the time. The good thing is that the soccer game was only a U-22 Olympic qualifier. If it had been the men's national team game it probably would have crushed everything else while it was on. wall0.com/tv/1435754564/

Also, as arsenette and I noted on twitter, SASUKE was trending worldwide at least an hour after the show ended (and longer in Japan). According to Video Research Co's Twitter TV Echo, SASUKE led all shows with twitter activity. (Click to expand) Attachment DeletedThe numbers for インプレッションユーザー数 (whatever that means) was 4,713,888, almost twice the next show. In fact, the next show was in the morning. SASUKE trashed not only whatever was on TV at the same time twitter-wise but everything else so far this week. The numbers for 投稿ユーザー数 was 113,737. Good job whoever was doing SASUKE stuff on twitter last night.

I hope Sasuke will be here forever. I cant imagine if it werent. It has become dream and lifestyle for so many people worldwide. There are now also competitions in other countries as well, but nothing compares to the original.

Holy crap they crushed things in twitter! I assume that's from the rest of Japan that wasn't added to the ratings race (since ratings in Japan ONLY come from the Tokyo area and not Japan in it's entirety). Very interesting. And yeah SASUKE went worldwide for 5 hours straight with it peaking at number 2 worldwide (that went on for 2 hours!). I'm so happy! Btw this is when they hit 2nd Worldwide:

I did my best to tweet, anything even though I rarely use twitter. Though my views of what Sasuke should be is different than most others, I still want Sasuke to live on as long as possible. The news about 32 is amazing.

Hey I appreciate the discussion. Change is important for a show to survive so the fact that people TALKED about Sasuke means that they care even if their opinions differ. If they didn't care they wouldn't feel so passionate about it and thus no reason to keep the show around. I'm happy this proved once and for all that Sasuke JAPAN is worthy enough of vigorous discussion both in Japan and Worldwide and reason enough to keep it around. I'm sure somewhere in TBS international there's some serious eyerolling going around. AHahahahhahahaha ehem.. Mission accomplished!

Hey guys, anyone know when the 2016 SASUKE hypetrain boards? Just curious by any chance. Although we more or less have confirmation, we don't create a board for the next tournament until we get an "official announcement" from TBS. Even if we get one now, we'd still wait because it's only been a couple days since the airing. We have a year to wait. Any talk of 32 will be moved then. Hopefully all the success ratings and trending-wise gives TBS a little motivation to throw a couple extra bucks its way for next year, since it is a renewal.

If history repeats itself it will be the same as this year and last. Which is taping around May and airing around July. No confirmation, just going by past history on the past 2 years.

Sounds like the Sasuke 32 board will be coming around early January then. As that's when applications opened up for 31.

I just wish that Sasuke can go back to being held twice a year rather than once a year.....seems like once a year is bad for the competitors that are especially getting up there in age, like Nagano, Yamamoto, Urushihara, etc. Makes me miss the golden years of watching this with everyone else here about once every 5-7 months, from 2008 till 2011.

They are barely surviving once a year as it is. It all goes down to money and advertising revenue. TBS as a whole (not just Sasuke) has lost the bulk of their advertisers to other stations with better track records. Sasuke still has to prove it can bring ratings (so far they haven't exactly done that) for it to justify 2 a year. If they get Sasuke World off the ground they will have 2 a year.. just not like we are used to. They are not tied to each other but they do share the same build and editing team. Right now we have to be happy with what we have and PRAY that they can get out of the hole they are in.

I honestly doubt they can top this year's ratings. There has only been a tiny increase each tournament, and 10.7% may well be the peak before another decrease :/...
