Another interesting quote from that article: "...and Geoff Britten, who recently became the first competitor to be crowned an American Ninja Warrior."

I have no idea how the participants are being selected, but I do know that the teams are being constructed by people who are training partners outside of the show. I don't know how to explain that any better, sorry.

Usually it makes sense, your friends, people like you, similar backgrounds etc. and of course you need a lady! I made a special request for my team for a person not called to be on this show - he might. It get a chance to compete again on ANW and while he did helps best ever this year - he was still upset and wants redemption. Personally I'm going into this for fun and not trying to win - not really my cup of tea anyway with the speed element. There are lots of really fast teams out there and I'm excited to watch them go as fast as they can!

Thanks for the clarification! I'm excited to see who the teams will be. Here's some baseless speculation:
* Brent & Kacy will be on a team, I assume. No clue who the third will be. Maybe Casey Finley will return? A guy can dream. * Depending on how captains were determined, I wouldn't be surprised to see a combo of Nick Coolridge, Ben Melick, and Jessie Graff. * I guess they'll have to split up the Wolfpack. I'll guess Isaac-Ian-Laura, Brian-Noah-Meagan. (Although no mention of Isaac makes you wonder if he'll be on the show) * I would guess Flip's partner will be either JJ Woods or Drew, but I'm not sure who the female would be. * I wouldn't be surprised to see a combo of Joe Moravsky and Elet Hall, even if it's just because I can't figure out who would be on Joe's team.
I see none of you invited me. Thanks. </3

www.facebook.com/JESSIEgraffPWR?fref=ts Jessie Graff, Nicholes Coolridge and Travis Brewer are confirmed as a team. They are looking for a name for it. I also know that they are not going with only people who competed this year.

So a spin off of American Ninja Warrior, which is a spin off of Sasuke, which is a kinda a spin off of MXC/Takeshi's Castle?
A spin off of a spin off of a spin off.

Close, but it would be more appropriate to say that Sasuke is a spin off of Kinniku (Unbeatable) Banzuke. Calling Banzuke a 'spiritual successor' to Takeshis Castle would be more accurate than 'spin-off', but even that's a stretch. Besides being obstacle course shows on TBS, Takeshi's Castle is not really related to Banzuke or Sasuke.

Here are some of my guesses on who the teams might be
- We already know Nic Coolridge, Travis, and Jessie are a team - Brent and Kacy for sure their third maybe being Evan Dollard - I bet Drew will be with James and their girl could be April which is Drews gf - Chris and Brian W. will be with Michelle Warnky - Two wolf pack teams one with Laura and one with Meagan - Abel will most likely have Nate Jasso because they train together - I can see Joe either being with Elet or Geoff and his wife - I could see Alan Conealy being with JR Campos - Kevin Bull and David Campell would be a funny and dominating combo but I could also see David with someone like Brian Orosco if he would agree to do it. - Ryan Stratis and Brett Sims train together and that'd be cool to see them together but based on this last season he'd probably be paired up with Dustin Mckinney. - Tremayne Dortch and his wife will probably be a team and their third could be someone like Karsten. - Or we could see Karsten with some of the "legion of zoom" guys - Samm San and Daniel Gil are probably a team. - Could see Ben Melick with Travis Weinand or Arnold Hernandez
And honestly some of the teams I just couldn't think of a girl so I bet we might see some lesser known girl competitors on some of these teams.

Ben Melick is reportedly a captain of a team. No word on who the team will consist of.
EDIT: Ryan Stratis just announced that he is on a team

Something I've known for a while and can finally share: Brian Wilczewski, Chris Wilczewski, and Michelle Warnky are competing under the moniker of Team Lab Rats (that much I didn't know).
