I was wondering what everyones thoughts were on how many days before the qualifying course to stop working out? Cause I know there is a certain point where your not going to gain any more muscle leading up to the run. I know some guys workout every day, but I know my workouts have to be divided up into different body parts on different days. I see more results like that than working out 24/7. I definitely don't want to just lay around the day or two before. Stretching and walking seems to be good to kind of a good idea for the days before.

I could tell you what I'm planning on doing but it seems like you have a good idea of how your body feels with the type of training you have been doing. Typically for my training I've worked into two back to back days of very intense training (full body and course running) not really focusing on just legs, arms or grip. Then I'll throw in one good day of rock climbing to gas out my forearms/grip. My plan is to give myself 5-6 days of rest up to the competition, however that does mean I veg out. I'll be stretching maybe swinging a little, some balance but really recovering. I've tried this for my last two competitions and I felt 100% when i competed. Hope this helps, but i don't expect other people to do the same type of program as me. I also have one 20month old and another born actually today, so that's why I can only train up to 3 x a week.

I'm the same exact way man, I only have the time to workout about 3 times a week but I kinda feel like that's all a person really needs or your over working your body. I was think a good 4-5 day rest before too cause if you really think about it, it takes a while for something to heal completely on your body. And that's all working out is, tearing your muscles and having them regrow
