Has anybody who applied to be a tester been contacted yet by the "challenge producer"? I contacted that girl Claire from ANW and she asked for my information, and then said she would give it to him and he'd let me know if/when testers are needed.

Chill man, we're still a month and a half away from the first regional... They're still planning a ton of stuff and testing is very low on that list and will be brought up closer to time

I heard the Pittsburgh venue is going to be one of the bridges. That would be epic. I would have thought they would do it on the open, grassy Point, but shutting down traffic both ways on a city monument for a week would be just as convenient.

And your source on that bridge thing is what exactly? Someone who lives in Pittsburgh that I met at the Alternate Routes event last weekend. Not sure where they got it though, maybe casting, idk.

Not sure where they can put it in Orlando unless it's indoors, in the back of a hotel, or in a city just outside of Orlando. Haven't lived here very long but not many spots for a big course and a crew and an audience.

My guess for Orlando would be in or around Universal Studios Orlando because NBC Universal, although the map doesn't show much space besides a dirt lot to the south directly across Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort. Another guess while browsing is the ~700ft long grass area at Loch Haven Park between Orlando Science Center and Orlando Museum of Art.

I know the producers make it look larger than life, but the actual ANW setup isn't really that big. The Miami course for ANW4 was crammed between buildings on a college campus, for example.

Last year in St. Louis they couldn't even get a straight course. It was an L shape.

I disliked when Sasuke's first stage became a marathon, but I liked the winding stage design. It makes it look less boring. I guess it's just personal preference, though.

Could it be possibly because it's a pain watching a competitor start and finish the course when it's technically on another street? LOL At least in Sasuke it was an open field so regardless of how much it wound around it still was within view. I can see both points of view though.

Baltimore turned a corner as well (Not sure why, the space they had the space to make it straight) but I agree with Oti about preferring a course that isn't a straight line. That may sound weird for someone with OCD but it brings that sense of intricacy to the course. I prefer the turns on the course rather than the straight line, I'm actually kind of glad we had that 18-Present Sasuke kind of path on the Baltimore course, was glad they told the testers that they wanted us they wanted us to start from the back of that path instead of just walking on up to the Prism Tilt

I think this post belongs in this thread, but if it shouldn't sorry. On topic do you guys know when they will make the tickets available? I might go to the Venice tryouts, them being right after my birthday, and I wanted to know. Thank you in advance.

I would have thought they would do it on the open, grassy Point, but shutting down traffic both ways on a city monument for a week would be just as convenient. There are no bridges wide enough to fit the obstacles and the crowd. Also we have to consider if someone really screws something up and tips over the bridge which could be deadly. Point Park isn't long enough and they usually put the obstacles on pavement for stability reasons. Also, I contacted casting around the time the aforementioned person from Pittsburgh did and they said they weren't allowed to reveal the spot yet for legal reasons but that it would be publicly announced as soon as they could. Sorry I'm so late to getting this. Source: I live in Pittsburgh

Carrie Furnace is passing at the 1 yard line dumb. Random field of grass in the middle of nowhere. I guess NBC wants Pittsburgh to look bad? No clue how they're going to set up 9 obstacles on that.

Union City is basically perfect for Kansas City. Only a few other venues on that same level. They could've done crown center, maybe one of the football/baseball stadiums, or perhaps in front of one of our museums, but Union City might be the best choice of those.
