Literally just show up. Though they may not get through all of the testers. Just jump at any opportunity you get. When I went to St. Louis only about half of us got to test, and it was random how we were chosen. They just picked the people in the front row of where we were sitting.

I competed last year, I tested in ANW5, and I'm not sure if there are any tips, as a walk on in St Louis I saw they were doing large group of testers instead of like 5 of us so it shouldn't be that hard to get a spot.

Okay so I finally get a chance to be a tester.
The email one of the producers sent me was "If we need any Testers for Houston we'll let you know"

So is there a chance not every region needs a tester(s)?

I think that's nicer than saying "Hey! We haven't got to that point so leave us alone." They have to test to make sure it's not too hard or too easy.

Did the FInals course with Cannonball Alley have testers???

If so then how come they never modified it for competition?

They actually modified it a lot. First day it was 5 balls. 2nd day it was 3 big ones and last day they had it as what was shown

The other 2 versions were either too easy or too hard I guess.

Only ever saw 2 testers pass cannonball alley before qualifiers began. Didn't see it tested before Venice finals

I wonder where they'll place the course in Kansas City?

If you're referring to Joe Moravsky's run that was an isolated incident, I was a tester in Baltimore, and was a walk on in St Louis and was there for a week outside the course so saw all the testing they did, I can assure you the only problem they had with the Rumbling Dice was making the track too long in Baltimore

I got an email back from casting:

"Utah will be sent to KC, however we don't base where everyone goes only on location, you may be sent to another region."

They didn't say where in KC exactly.

No... in the days leading up to it, there may be some testers running through last minute to do a final check and to get the crowd pumped (if they even do that, they didn't in Baltimore, did in St Louis) but most of the testing is the days before to make sure the course is set for the competitors

Well if it's the 23rd and 24th for competition, probably the 21st-22nd for testing, that's just my guess though, you're better off asking the same person you asked to apply to test

Where do you think chicago will be, most from here was thinking kc as well?

I would imagine most of them would go to Kansas City, yeah. Maybe if there are too many, some will get assigned to Pittsburgh, equal distance away and all, but Pittsburgh is already dealing with a lot of competitors on the east coast.
