Given the decent ratings on primetime NBC television ANW has gotten, its spin offs including events taken place in Sweden and Turkey (with future European countries to come), along with the show's originator, SASUKE, still kicking it after 17 years of production, what are your prospects on the longevity of ANW? Will it last to see a tenth season? Will it make it as far as Sasuke's 30? Will it possibly evolve into an unrigged, maybe even LIVE sports program on the same level as today's NBA or NFL? Or is it all downhill from here? WHAT DO YA THINK? My hopes (with no objective based knowledge to give an actual answer to my own question ) are that the show lasts long enough for me to try out (2018/4 seasons from now). WHAT WOULD BE REEEEAAAALLY cool would be to see them lower that age limit to 18. BUT APPARENTLY THAT'S A LITTLE BIT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR. Anyways, overall write your thoughts on ANW future down here. I'm curious to see what others have to say.

If they continue the poorly made obstacles and rigged results it won't last long.

Yeah I have to agree with Philip here... doubt ANW will outlast SASUKE that's for sure...

Probably not, because the relationship between TBS and NBC is dying.

Keep in mind a couple things:
- The show's only been on NBC for 2 years technically - Including the G4 run it's one of the longest reality/"non-scripted" shows they've had
Considering most of the programming they have that could be considered "reality" currently hasn't been canceled, I think this can last a few more years. 3-4 at the most.

I personally think if they manage to keep people in the dark about the altered results they will still line up like lemmings to get on the show. There are rumors that 40,000 emails were sent to be notified for when applications are available. How many will actually apply is kinda irrelevant. This day and age with the prize being offered and the wall to wall coverage they will find a lot of people willing to get on the show. There's plenty of gloryhounds here in the USA. That said though, longevity.. all we have to do is point to things like Wipeout as a true indicator of how long these things can realistically last. If the show is touted to be a real version while Wipeout is a made up show, there will be backlash. However, there are shows like Survivor that have reinvented themselves year after year and that's what.. 20+ years? I personally think because anyone can get on ANW that will be the secret to lasting years into the future. It's cheap to produce, they don't have paid talent with exorbitant contracts and most importantly they have a revolving door of fresh meat they can exploit year after year. Even if some of us purists get upset about how they are ruining the original show, there's an even longer line of new people who aren't as educated on the original that will line up for the chance at half a million bucks.

I'm still waiting on the backlash when multiple people beat Stage 3 and then the show basically going "Only one person can actually 'win'."

Keep in mind that most people watching ANW are "ANW newbies" who think the hosts are legit, the show is legit, and that half of the episodes being fluff is normal. We are only a minority.
It will survive for a while longer so long as TBS doesn't do anything about it.

That's really dumb IMO.

The part of me that wants to compete on the show says that the show will last forever. However I do think ANW could last for a long time, I remember 3 or 4 years ago showing my friends stuff that I would do and saying it was from Ninja Warrior or American Ninja Warrior they didn't know what I was talking about. Now though whenever I mention or show them something that I do (cliffhanger, courses, etc.) they all say, "You should go on American Ninja Warrior." I like knowing that before it gained a lot of its popularity I watched the show regularly. I just hope it can at least last long enough until I can compete, but that is a ways away. I also hope that Sasuke can last long enough to where I can compete.

I'm not sure how much control NBC has had over these fixed results, but if NBC doesn't know about it and then they find out about this, ANW is in deep s**t.

Quick question, in Sasuke, if more than one person won in a single tournament would they all get the cash prize?

They are co-champions and have always been announced as such. As for Sasuke controlling NBC that's the other way around. NBC is in complete sole control of their own show. No one in TBS can tell them what to do. All of the stupid decisions are made from the top. Even by the statements of the ones lower than them confirms that. It's a shame because it's someone in a suit that has those stupid ideas. Same problem in TBS with their stupid ideas. LOL

I see it lasting at least 5 more years. I mean it has been gaining popularity since it started airing on NBC. The biggest thing for me is wether or not they get an actual stage 4 completion. I think if nobody completes stage 4 in the next 5 years then people will lose interest. But if they do get a champ I think it might help it last a little longer.

I see it lasting indefinitely because, simply put, it's profitable. It's super cheap to produce (just rent a field somewhere, truck around some aluminum that you mostly are reusing from the year before, don't need to pay contestants or actors, etc.) and it's increasing in ratings from season to season. Profit = return - investment, which is > 0, and is increasing. Simple as that.
