I have been in a small dilemma as of late, because I train for Sasuke however my hands get tons of blisters and callus that my friends find disgusting (which I don't really care about). I also hate having too much callus, and I want to know if you guys think I should use gloves about half the time I train or should I just use my hands?

Never tried gloves, but without gloves, I can't climb a 10ft rope without my hands gushing out blood.

Well gloves aren't allowed on ANW or Sasuke, you're better off not using them as a crutch, you should probably just learn to deal with it so you're ready for the real course. There have been times I've used gloves while training (usually after tearing up my hands) but feel like I'm cheating anyways

If it's helpful for a better training, then just use them where they are useful and try sometimes without gloves

I think it is just in general that my hands are getting torn, but I train for cliffhanger a lot but it is sanded. I train for the salmon ladder on a bar I don't think is that good. I climb rope also but I don't know which one to narrow it down to.

Try mechanical gloves that are grips on very well, but your hands would get very sweaty though.

if you dont already, you should definitely start treating the callus with a pumice stone, sand-paper, pet egg or some other method of removing the bump that a callus creates. it will help prevent large tears by shaving down the dead skin which sticks out, bunches & then eventually rips off.
if the skin still bunches on your fingers then tape can be used to cover them so they dont rip. or if they still rip you can use tape to cover tears and avoid pain.
i would not get into a habit of training with gloves unless its lifting weights or you do ALOT of upper body work on bars. like BarStarz level of bar work!

I'd say use gloves to master the the technique of an obstacle and then once you feel comfortable at it then try it without gloves ^^. Oh, only exception to this would be on the VL, if you are using thick gloves you will find it very difficult as you are losing like a quarter of your grip area
